Hezbollah said in a statement that its warplanes had attacked a Hermes 900 Kochav drone and that such missiles had struck militants and civilian homes. Gunfights along the Lebanese-Israeli border have intensified in recent weeks as Israel advanced into the town of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip.
The Israeli army said a surface-to-air missile had been fired at the drone as it flew over Lebanese airspace, adding that the drone crashed in Lebanese territory.
"The incident is under investigation," the army said. The Hermes 900 Kochav is a medium-altitude, long-range drone capable of carrying four anti-tank guided missiles.
Hezbollah said on Saturday that its warplanes also attacked an Israeli military base in the border town of Kiryat Shmona with Burkan rockets, "suffering direct hits, starting fires and destroying parts." Burkan rockets can carry a 300-500 kilogram warhead.
The Israeli military confirmed that the rockets had landed at a military base in Kiryat Shmona, without providing further details.
Israeli media reported the rocket attack on Kiryat Shmona and published images showing significant damage to infrastructure. No casualties were reported.

A day after war broke out between Israel and Hamas on October 7, Hezbollah launched attacks on Israeli military positions along the Lebanese-Israeli border. Tens of thousands of people have been displaced on both sides of the border since then.

According to a report of a security review of BrahMos from 2022 seen by Firstpost, the following items were found inside the missile-manufacturing company’s premises:
One 81mm Rocket Launcher
One 5.56mm INSAS Light Machine Gun (LMG)
One 5.56mm INSAS Rifle
Three 51mm Mortar ammunition (high-explosive)
One Influence Mine
Two fuzes for AGS/Pinaka
One 120mm Mortar ammunition (high-explosive)
It is interesting to note that findings such as these, and sometimes less significant than these weapons, are referred to as “war-like stores” quite often in media reports.
How did BrahMos and DRDO address the issue?
The committee reported its findings to the BrahMos leadership. According to a senior source in the organisation familiar with the developments in the matter, BrahMos in turn informed the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) about the security deficiencies and the discovery of "unexplained" weapons. It should be noted that BrahMos is a joint venture between India's DRDO and Russian NPO Mashinostroyeniya. The former is the majority owner of BrahMos, owning 51% of the company. Simply put, DRDO was the next level up the chain of command.

The Lok Sabha elections are over and so is his interim bail. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal surrendered at Tihar Jail this evening. His path was a circuitous one. He left his home around 3 pm and went to Rajghat to pay his respects to Mahatma Gandhi, then to Hanuman Mandir and then to the party headquarters. His final destination was prison, where he left 21 days ago after being granted interim bail by the Supreme Court. Addressing party workers at the Aam Aadmi Party headquarters today, Kejriwal expressed his gratitude to the Supreme Court. He said the interim bail had borne fruit.
"I have not wasted a single minute in these 21 days. I have campaigned for all political parties. I have campaigned to save the country. Country is important but Aam Aadmi Party is second," he said, calling it an "unforgettable" experience.
The AAP leader was accompanied by his wife Sunita Kejriwal and other party leaders, including Delhi ministers Atish, Kailash Gahlot, Saurabh Bharadwaj, Rajya Sabha MPs Sanjay Singh and Sandeep Pathak, and party leaders Durgesh Pathak, Rakhi Birla and Leena Gupta.
Kejriwal, a defendant in the Delhi liquor policy case, was in jail from April 1 until his release by the Supreme Court.
His stay in Tihar was marked by a major debate over diabetes and medication. The chief minister and his party alleged that authorities had withheld medication from him since his arrest. The Enforcement Directorate alleged that Kejriwal had consumed food unsuitable for diabetics.
He had sought bail extension yesterday on health grounds but received no immediate relief, Kejriwal said today he was not sure what kind of treatment he would receive this time.
