Elon Musk warns US against ‘very real’ risk after Kamala Harris' ‘shameful’ message on Venezuela election
Elon Musk, who endorsed Donald Trump shortly after an assassination attempt on him at a rally in Pennsylvania, has warned the United States of “very real” risk if Kamala Harris becomes the country's next president. Harris has a message for Venezuelan people
Harris faced backlash on X for posting a message, in which she said that the choice of the Venezuelans must be respected as the opposition has been pointing out anomalies since Maduro was proclaimed the winner. "The United States stands with the Venezuelan people who made their voices heard in today's historic presidential election," she wrote.
"The will of the Venezuelan people must be respected. Despite the many challenges, we will continue to work toward a more democratic, prosperous and secure future for the Venezuelan people," she added.
Meanwhile, Tesla CEO Elon Musk shared Harris' tweet and endorsed a post by political commentator Gunther Eagleman, who wrote that "If Trump is not elected, the United States will become Venezuela."
The billionaire re-shared Eagleman's post, writing: "I believe this risk is very real."

Israel and Hezbollah on the brink of war after rocket attack kills 12 children
Israeli officials have said they want to avoid a war in Lebanon in retaliation.
Israel has struck Hezbollah targets and threatened further retaliation for the rocket attack that killed 12 people. But Israel has also signaled it is open to a proposed ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, which could calm its explosive front with Lebanon.
A rocket explosion on the Golan Heights on Saturday killed 12 people, Israel's deadliest incident of civilian casualties since Hamas overran southern villages and military bases on October 7.
The rocket attack hit a soccer field, killing children between the ages of 10 and 16, local officials said.
Israel claims Hezbollah fired an Iranian Falak-1 missile, but the Iran-backed group said it had "nothing to do" with the incident. The rocket attack has raised fears that conflict between Israel and Hezbollah could escalate further.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced he would demand a "heavy price" from Hezbollah. He has held several meetings with his security ministers and military chiefs to decide how to proceed.
The United States condemned the missile attack and called on all parties involved to show restraint.
But Iran has warned that any new "adventure" by Israeli forces in Lebanon could lead to "unforeseen consequences".

Israel launched a war with Hamas after the October 7 attacks that killed 1,200 people in southern Israel and took 250 hostages in Gaza. The Hamas-run Gaza Health Ministry said the death toll in Gaza had topped 39,000.
Hezbollah was much more powerful than Hamas before October 7 and has more fighter jets, missiles and drones. Officials from both countries said a war would probably be devastating for both Lebanon and Israel.

18 coaches of Howrah-Mumbai Express derail in Jharkhand's Chakradharpur, 6 injured
At least five to six people sustained minor injuries when a passenger train travelling between Howrah and Mumbai derailed early on Tuesday morning. The incident occurred at 3.43 am near Charadharpur in Jharkhand, between Rachalsuwan West Outer and Barabambhu. Officials said first aid was given to all injured passengers.
As per initial information, 18 coaches of the train, including 16 coaches, one rail car and one dining car, derailed, PTI reported.
Railway officials said the accident occurred after a goods train coming from the opposite direction derailed and collided with a passenger train coming from the opposite direction.
Railways has not currently classified the accident as serious.
Further investigations are underway. In the meantime, all passengers will be taken to Chakradharpur by bus.
Several train derailments have been reported this month. On July 18, several bogies of the Dibrugarh Express derailed at Gonda in Uttar Pradesh, killing at least four people and injuring around 20. A few days later, a goods train travelling from Lucknow to Delhi derailed near Amroha station, paralysing the Delhi-Lucknow railway line, but no deaths or injuries were reported.

Indian warships take part in traditional naval parade to mark Russian Navy Day
The parade, which takes place on the last Sunday of July, was overseen by President Vladimir Putin, Defense Minister Andrey Belousov and Navy Commander-in-Chief Alexander Moiseyev, RT reported.
More than 200 naval vessels, including those from the Indian, Chinese and Algerian navies, took part in the traditional naval parade to mark Russian Navy Day in St. Petersburg on Sunday.
President Vladimir Putin, Defense Minister Andrey Belousov and Navy Commander-in-Chief Alexander Moiseyev oversaw the parade, which takes place on the last Sunday of July, RT reported.
In his speech on the occasion, Putin vowed that Russia would continue to strengthen its naval power and modernize its fleet with high-tech resources, including hypersonic missiles. The event was attended by more than 15,000 soldiers and vessels of various ranks from Russia's Northern, Pacific, Baltic and Caspian fleets, as well as the Syrian Naval Expeditionary Force. However, the Black Sea Fleet ships were missing due to their participation in active operations in the Ukrainian conflict.
The parade is traditionally led by the Poltava, a restored 18th century 54-gun sailing ship.
