Chakravyuh speech on Budget 2024, waiting with open arms’ claims Rahul Gandhi for ED

Chakravyuh speech on Budget 2024, waiting with open arms’ claims Rahul Gandhi

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi claimed on August 2 that the Enforcement Directorate is planning to raid him following his ‘Chakravyuh’ speech during the discussion on the Budget 2024. Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Lok Sabha, said he would, however, wait for the central probe agency with ‘chai and biscuits.’

‘Apparently, 2 in 1 didn’t like my Chakravyuh speech. ED ‘insiders’ tell me a raid is being planned," Gandhi said in a post on X, perhaps, referring to Home Minister Amit Shah by ’2 in 1.'

Speaking in Lok Sabha on July 29, Rahul Gandhi alleged that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA government had stabbed the middle class in the front and the back with announcements in Budget 2024 amid an ‘atmosphere of fear’ across the country.

“Waiting with open arms @dir_ed …..Chai and biscuits on me,” Gandhi said in the post tagging Enforcement Directorate X handle. Gandhi invoked the Chakravyuh metaphor from the Mahabharata to target the ruling party. Chakravyuh (labyrinth of fear) was the battle formation that led to the death of Arjuna's son Abhimanyu. Gandhi said the country was trapped by the chakravyuh, symbolised by the lotus symbol worn by PM Modi on his chest. He realised that the chakravyuh had been used to capture Abhimanyu.

Amid uproar by Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) MPs over his remarks on six chakravyuh, Gandhi said the remarks had held the country captive.

"I expected the power of the chakravyuh to weaken in this budget. "But the sole objective of this budget is to strengthen the enabling environment for big business, monopolies and political monopolies that are destroying the fabric of our democracy. This chakravarti is attacking small businesses through revenue stripping, GST and tax terror," Gandhi said in the Rajya Sabha.

Kandi Srinivasa Reddy- Indian American Involved in H-1B Lottery Scam

Who is Kandi Srinivasa Reddy? Indian American Involved in H-1B Lottery Scam

Kandi Srinivasa Reddy, an Indian businessman from Telangana, is under scrutiny for his alleged involvement in an immigration fraud scheme that manipulated the US H-1B visa lottery system. A Bloomberg investigation into Reddy's activities has revealed a complex network of companies and systematic abuse of visa procedures, raising serious concerns about the integrity of the system.

Kandi Srinivasa Reddy Involved in H-1B Fraud

Reddy, an individual with ties to both the US and India, is allegedly involved in a conspiracy to manipulate the H-1B visa lottery system through a process known as "multiple registrations." This tactic involves the same person submitting numerous applications under different company names, significantly increasing the chances of being selected in the lottery.

According to a Bloomberg report, Reddy controlled several companies, including Cloud Big Data Technologies LLC and Machine Learning Technologies LLC. These companies, with similar names and addresses, submitted thousands of applications and secured hundreds of H-1B visas. This manipulation not only manipulated the lottery system, but also disadvantaged companies that played by the rules.

Data from 2020 to 2023 accessed by Bloomberg shows that Reddy's candidates were almost certain to win the lottery. His companies received a total of 54 visas, far more than the previous year. Since 2020, they have received more than 300 visas.

Changes to the lottery system to stop fraud and select the right talent. For example, if a person is recommended by multiple companies, they are given a higher rating. These changes were scammed by recruitment agencies. According to the data, the average salary of a recruitment agency in 2023 was about $90,000, while the average salary of a general employer was $125,000. Reddy's new recruits made about $87,000.

Lucas Garritson, a Texas lawyer representing Reddy, told Bloomberg that USCIS did not follow proper procedures to ban the activity and did not have evidence that Reddy's company violated the rules.

Kandi Srinivasa Reddy's Congressional Ties

Reddy's involvement goes beyond business. He was the Congress candidate from Adilabad constituency. He has set up a foundation that helps farmers and also runs a media company. Bloomberg reported that despite his claims that he had minimal involvement in companies related to the visa scam, documents and public statements suggest that Reddy played a much larger role.

Hamas military commander Mohammed Deif killed in Gaza attack: Israel

A day after the killing of Hamas military commander Ismail Haniya in Tehran, announced by the Iranian Revolutionary Guards and Hamas, Israel confirmed the killing of Deif.

The Israeli military announced on Thursday that Hamas military commander Mohammed Deif was killed in an attack last month in the Khan Yunis neighborhood in the southern Gaza Strip.

The military's confirmation of Deif's killing came a day after the killing of Hamas leader Ismail Haniya in Tehran, announced by the Iranian Revolutionary Guards and Hamas.

"The IDF (Israeli military) announces that on July 13, 2024, IDF warplanes attacked the Khan Yunis area and that intelligence analysis has confirmed that the attack eliminated Mohammed Deif," the military statement said. "Deif initiated, planned and carried out the October 7 massacre," the army said of the Hamas attack in southern Israel that killed 1,197 people, according to an AFP tally based on official Israeli figures.

Health officials in the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip said more than 90 people were killed in the July 13 attack, but Hamas denied that Deif was among them.

The bomb, believed to be a 2,000-pound (900-kilogram) bomb, left a huge crater around the house where Deif was said to have taken refuge with one of the members of parliament.

Deif, head of Hamas's armed wing, the Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades, has been one of Israel's most wanted men for nearly three decades and has been on the US list of "international terrorists" since 2015. The military has said Deif has carried out several attacks against Israel over the years. According to the military,

Deif worked with Gaza Strip Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar.

"During the war, he issued orders and instructions to senior Hamas military wing officials and directed Hamas' terrorist activities in the Gaza Strip," it said.

During the Hamas offensive, militants arrested 251 people, and 111 remain prisoners in Gaza, including 39 who the military says were killed.

What Goes Around, Comes Around...' BJP Sharpens Attack On Rahul In Caste Row

What Goes Around, Comes Around...': Armed With Throwback Videos, BJP Sharpens Attack On Rahul In Caste Row

The BJP countered the Congress taking the line that MP Anurag Thakur did not take names and said the party does not see anything wrong with the speech

Buoyed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s public endorsement of fellow MP Anurag Thakur’s speech and using social media to its advantage, the BJP went all out in its attack on Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi. This came after the Congress created a ruckus in Parliament over Thakur’s remarks, which apparently questioned Gandhi’s caste, and persisted with their demand for conducting a caste census.

The BJP countered the Congress, which moved a privilege motion on the grounds that Modi’s encouragement of Thakur was a “serious breach of parliamentary privilege”. Taking the line that he did not take names, the saffron camp defended Thakur and said it does not see anything wrong with his speech.

‘Relax Jairam, don’t punch above your weight’

Senior BJP leader Amit Malviya took a swipe at Congress general secretary incharge, communications, Jairam Ramesh asking him not to “punch above your weight”. He called Gandhi a "third time failure" and said the Congress should understand that there is a harvest for everything as the LoP has openly cited casteism in the past.

"Calm down, Jairam, don't get too carried away. Here is Rahul Gandhi's track record of publicly challenging casteism and failing for the third time. The Congress should understand that there is a harvest for everything. It must now be made clear to what caste Balak Budhi Rahul Gandhi, born to a Christian mother and a Parsi father, belongs to. Or is the caste rhetoric that has opposed OBC reservations since 1950 only aimed at dividing Hindus to achieve electoral gains,” Malviya wrote on X.

. Jairam Ramesh praised Thakur’s speech and attacked Modi for saying, “They ‘need to do so’,” in a social media post, calling the Bharatiya Janata Party MP’s speech a “highly offensive and unconstitutional tirade.”
