Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said late on Friday that he has agreed to debate his Democratic opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris, on FOX News on September 4th.

It was not immediately clear whether Harris had agreed to the debate. Trump's post came hours after the vice president secured the Democratic nomination for the November presidential election.
Last month, Trump's White House bid was upended when 81-year-old President Joe Biden, amid growing concerns about his age and falling poll numbers, gave up on reelection and endorsed Harris.
His decision to withdraw came after a disastrous anti-Trump debate on CNN in June. A second Trump-Biden debate was scheduled for September 10 on ABC.
It was scheduled to go ahead as planned, with Harris taking Biden's place, but President Trump's spokesman said last week that it would be "inappropriate" to schedule a debate before Harris is officially the Democratic nominee.
The 78-year-old Republican candidate had previously said he would not debate, as it would be a departure from political tradition, as he is nearly 20 years older than Harris.
The former prosecutor and former attorney general of California challenged President Trump to a personal debate last month.
"Well, Donald, I urge you to think twice about meeting me on the debate stage. As the saying goes, if you have something to say, say it to my face," Harris said at a campaign rally in Atlanta. In a post, President Trump said the debate would take place in Pennsylvania and be moderated by Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum in front of a packed house.
Fox News confirmed that the debate would have an "audience" and would follow similar rules to the CNN debate between Trump and Biden on June 27.
The news station announced that it had invited Trump and Harris to a debate in Pennsylvania in September. "I look forward to meeting and discussing with Kamala Harris on September 4th," Trump said, adding that the date was "convenient and appropriate" as early voting for the presidential election on September 6 approaches.

It was detonated remotely by Mossad operatives located inside Iranian territory after receiving information that Haniya was indeed in the room.
The Revolutionary Guard said it had opened an investigation into the incident.
Israel did not notify the United States or other allies before the attack.
But sources said Israeli officials briefed U.S. officials on details of the operation on Wednesday night.

While the destruction and death toll of Palestinians in Gaza have drawn international criticism, Netanyahu has focused on Israel and the existential threat to his country and the region from Iran and its proxies in the so-called Axis of Resistance, which includes Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon, both designated terrorist organizations by the United States, and the Houthis in Yemen.
