Situation in Bangladesh - My Perspective

There is a situation in Bangladesh that is very difficult to explain at this time. The people living there are not so sure about what is going to happen next.  There are some parts of Bangladesh, or some parties of Bangladesh, who are still in power.  And they have designed such a government formation, which on the surface seems to be very balanced, there are a lot of intellectual people in this government. But how balanced will this government be, it is very difficult to say.  The reason for this is that I think it will be a government like Pakistan.  The Chief of the Bangladeshi Army, Vakar, has created a hybrid governance model.

And in this hybrid governance, he has formed a government that the world will think is an inclusive government and will work for Bangladesh. But the real key to the power is in the hands of General Vakar and will direct it from behind the scene. The important portfolios that matter he has kept it with him.
Almost everyone knows that this governance model is adopted from Pakistan and it will be Army-ruled model. It has been done because Bangladesh wants to avoid sanctions. If military rule had started there, then the situation in Myanmar would have been the same. So they have created a façade that we are not like Myanmar. Wakar believe in democratic form of governance.  When the situation is under control, they will get elections done as soon as possible. It has a lot of implications for India. We Indians are saying that national interests should not be harmed.  What should be done with Hindus in Bangladesh? They should be given shelter in India. And an internal politics has started in our country. I will not go into that politics. I just want to tell you about the perspective of Hindus. In my opinion, as far as possible, Hindus should try to settle in Bangladesh.
They should not migrate to India  The way Pakistan has dealt with Hindus same way Bangladesh is going to deal with Hindus.  There should be a long term strategy.  Why is Kashmir in such a state today? Because we helped Hindus to get out of Kashmir and this has created a vacuum where Muslims have been given a Free run  we have lost our Hindu identity there in Kashmir as if it was a Islamic State, which is not the case. It was a Hindu Kingdom.
Every community has its own identity in any democratic process, all communities must have representation and share of responsibilities and fruits of democracy, today in Kashmir Valley there is no say of Hindu Indian identity. In  recent general elections,a Islamic terrorist became MP by winning election. In Bangladesh, Hindus were 35% in 1947 partition, today, they are 8%.If they also leave or if we call them to our side, then managing Bangladesh will be like Pakistan for India.  We will create another country around us that will never be a friendly country. I think that we should try to make sure that all  Hindus should live there safely. What we have to do to make sure that they live there, Indian Government should put pressure  on Bangladesh so that they stop torturing Hindus, do not break our temples, and  shouldensure an environment where Hindus can live freely.
We also say that India is our mother. If you ask a Kashmiri Pandit today, he will definitely want to go back to Srinagar and live in the same house, not in a colony.
We have made mistakes in the past. Now we need to use our power so that our people who practice our religion  and believe in our prayer practices can do their work freely.  We have so much power and leverage.
India has such a strong connection with Bangladesh that it cannot move forward without India. Even if any government comes there removing our connectivity is a huge task for Bangladesh. India is trade surplus with Bangladesh Secondly, many Bgladeshis are living in India today their entire life depends on India.
How can we leverage this? Modi Government must uneqivocally declare to Bangladesh that if you cannot keep our Hindus safe  then we will be forced to return unauthorised Bangladeshis. Implications for Bangladesh, which is economically in a bad state will be serious. Indian Government must use leverage to ensure that the Hindus are safe there.
The statement of the Prime Minister Modi is very appropriate to ensure that all Minorities are safe, he is not talking about only Hindus. U.N. Chief Boutras Ghali has called Bangladesh Government to ensure security and safety of the minorities.

In my next blog I will give my perspective as how Modi Govt can strategically settle Bengalis in view of National Security.

The US is attacking far-right Israeli criticism of the deal

National Security Council spokesman John Kirby pointed the finger at Smotrich and said he "should be ashamed" for questioning President Joe Biden's intentions. The White House denounced a far-right Israeli minister in extremely strong terms on Friday after he questioned a US-brokered ceasefire deal with Hamas. In a White House call with reporters, National Security Council spokesman John Kirby pointed the finger at Smotrich and said he was "ashamed" for questioning President Joe Biden's intentions. .

"The idea that he supports a deal that endangers Israel's security is just wrong, it's outrageous, it's absurd," Kirby said of Biden.

Kirby said Smotrich would "sacrifice" the Israeli and American hostages expected to be released under the deal in a position that "contradicts Israel's national security interests at this critical stage of the war." "He says this while President Biden is actually ordering the US military in the Middle East to directly defend Israel against a possible attack by Iran or other Iranian-backed terrorist groups," he said. Biden sent additional US forces after Israel was suspected of killing the political leader of Hamas in Iran, who vowed revenge.

On Thursday, Biden, in a joint phone call with the leaders of Egypt and Qatar, asked Israel and Hamas to meet within a week to finish working on a ceasefire.

Smotrich denounced the proposal as creating an "illusory symmetry" between the Israeli hostages and the "murderous Jewish terrorist dumps" that would be released.

This is absolutely not the time to fall into a dangerous trap where the "mediators" will dictate a "formula" and impose a capitulation agreement on us, which would waste the blood we have shed in this more just war," he said. Although criticism of the United States, Israel's main ally, has been extremely strong, Smotrich has often caused outrage with his comments. Earlier this week, he said that it would be "justified and moral" to fail two million Gazans to free the hostages, but he complained that the world would not allow Israel to do it.

The war in Gaza began when Palestinian militants from Hamas attacked southern Israel on October 7, resulting in the deaths of 1,198 people, mostly civilians, according to an AFP report based on official Israeli figures.

Israel's retaliatory military offensive has killed at least 39,699 people in Gaza, according to the Hamas-controlled territory's Health Ministry, which did not provide details on civilian and militant deaths.

BSF foiled attempt to infiltrate 1000 Bangladeshis in West Bengal riots

How BSF foiled attempt to infiltrate 1000 Bangladeshis in West Bengal riots

A large group of Bangladeshi nationals were stopped from entering India by the BSF at the Cooch Behar border in West Bengal. The Guwahati Border Security Force (BSF) on Friday successfully foiled a large-scale attempt to cross into India from the Bangladesh border in West Bengal's Cooch Behar district. About 1,000 people, apparently Bangladeshi nationals, mostly Hindus, approached the border to seek refuge in India, according to an official BSF statement. The BSF responded quickly by coordinating efforts with the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) to ensure that these people were sent back, thus preventing any escalation.

The group had gathered about 400 meters from the fence near a water body in Bangladesh's Lalmonirhat district. "Bangladeshis had gathered at the border but none could enter the country as the border was completely closed. They were later sent back by the BGB to their country," said a senior BSF officer. Ikramul Haque, a resident of Pathantul in Sitalkuchi, Cooch Behar, West Bengal, said: "Around 9 or 9:30 am, some Bangladeshis gathered at the border and tried to infiltrate into India."

He added that many of them are still there. "However, the crowd has decreased a bit now. Their arrival in India suddenly is not possible. "There is a protocol for this. There is a strong presence of BSF," Haque added.

"The quick and decisive actions of the BSF, in coordination with the Indian civil administration, were crucial to maintain law and order and resolve the matter," the BSF said.
