In the 2024 US Presidential Debate, Donald Trump was at the top of his game, dominating then Democratic Party candidate Joe Biden with sharp rebuttals and clever remarks. Biden was extremely disheartened by his poor showing in the US Presidential Debate 2024, leading him to withdraw from the race and throw his support behind Kamala Harris as his replacement. 

Kamala Harris is set to face off against Trump in the upcoming Presidential Debate, but the location of the live broadcast has not been confirmed yet. At the same time, Trump has raised concerns about ABC Network showing the US Presidential Debate, alleging that the network has a bias. The Harris team is pushing for the Debate to have live microphones on throughout the entire program to catch Donald Trump's lies as they happen. 

As per Brian Fallon, the representative for Harris, the Vice President is prepared to address Trump's behavior during debates, which involves interruptions and continuous casual remarks. Nevertheless, her team is insisting that the microphones remain live throughout the entire show to prevent Trump from using them as a shield. 

Trump believes that there is no need for any changes to be made following the last debate and he is content with how things are. The upcoming US Presidential debate will show how both candidates perform in a new dynamic, with Harris representing a significant change for the Democrats. The outcome remains to be seen.

The 30-year-old murderer, who has tattoos and is from Fort Myers, showed no emotion as Judge Nicholas Thompson sentenced him to death in Lee Circuit Court. 

The proof indicates that the killings were brutal, atrocious, and merciless. Circuit Judge Nicholas Thompson stated to the courtroom that the second murder was planned and deliberate. This was reported by the New York Post. 

In June, Wilson was convicted of murdering Kristine Melton, 35, and Diane Ruiz, 43, on a night in October 2019. The jury suggested that he be given the death penalty as punishment.

The popular messaging app Telegram, with a user base of more than 5 million in India, is at risk of being banned. This occurred following the initiation of an investigation into extortion and gambling by the Central authorities against the company. 

The fate of the messaging app in India hinges on the results of the investigation. Moneycontrol previously reported that the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology have initiated an investigation and are examining the company's P2P communications. 

A government official informed Moneycontrol that the ministries are currently investigating the role of Telegram in criminal actions, including activities like gambling and extortion. Currently, Telegram has not released any official statement regarding the investigation. 

India is currently conducting an investigation into the company, meanwhile, its leader Pavel Durov was detained in Paris recently. The founder of Telegram was taken into custody by French authorities for their moderation guidelines, as per reports. 

French authorities are investigating the absence of moderators on the messaging app. The authorities claim that this kind of situation makes it easy for criminals to operate without being detected. Meanwhile, a report from PTI stated that following the events in France, the IT Ministry has requested the Ministry of Home Affairs to investigate pending complaints against Telegram and consider possible actions to be taken. 

The report, which referenced sources, stated that the IT Ministry is not a law enforcement agency in this matter. Additionally, CERT-In, a division within the Ministry, specifically deals with cybersecurity incidents rather than cybercrimes.

The Bharatiya Janata Party has announced a 12-hour strike in West Bengal on August 28 to protest the violent police response to peaceful protesters during a march to the state secretariat in Kolkata on Tuesday. The BJP has declared a strike in Bengal from 6am to 6pm on August 28. The demonstrators were trying to reach 'Nabanna' to call for the West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee's resignation following the alleged rape and murder of a doctor at the state-run RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata on August 9th. 

Violence and chaos erupted in the streets of Kolkata after a protest rally in the city went off course. In response to the event, Union minister and BJP president of West Bengal, Sukanta Majumder, has urged for a "12-hour strike" in the state. 

In a scathing remark, BJP leader JP Nadda criticized the Kolkata Police for their harsh treatment of protesters, suggesting that in Mamata Banerjee's West Bengal, supporting rapists and criminals is seen as a virtue.

Ending all rumors, the Royal Thai Air Force has selected the SAAB Gripen-E plane to substitute its outdated F-16A/B jets, giving a substantial advantage to the Swedish company. 

The RTAF revealed the purchase in a Facebook update on August 27. The organization expressed its desire to obtain the Gripen-E/F fighter jets manufactured by SAAB in Sweden. The decision was made after thorough deliberation and assessment carried out over a period of ten months. 

The Royal Thai Air Force determined that the Gripen-E/F fighter aircraft possesses a capacity span that aligns with the Air Force’s fundamental and strategic requirements. The airplane has the potential for further enhancement, resulting in a boost in its ability to operate in multiple dimensions. The message was translated by a computer. 

The Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) is in the process of assessing the two fighter aircraft options presented to them, namely the Saab Gripen-E from Sweden and the Lockheed Martin F-16 Block 70/72 Vipers. Both jets are considered to be suitable for smaller air forces that do not need costly stealth aircraft like the F-35 Lightning II, as they are both fourth-generation planes. 

The final offers from the jet manufacturers were shared, including an offset plan required by the Thai government, as announced by the RTAF leader ACM Panpakdee Pattanakul on August 26. The commander stated that two groups had been created to reexamine the bids in order to ensure that the Air Force chooses the aircraft that most closely meets its needs, as per Bangkok Post. 

He observed that the Air Force has been assessing the discoveries of both committees and was expected to reach a final decision by the conclusion of the week. Nevertheless, ACM Panpakdee, the commander of RTAF, declared on August 27 that the committee opted for the Gripen E/F instead of the F-16 Block 70/72 aircraft. 

Previously, in July 2024, a representative from the RTAF informed Janes that the RTAF preferred the Swedish aircraft following a comprehensive assessment that revealed the Gripen more effectively met its requirements. “The acquisition is currently underway [but is] reliant on the government,” the spokesperson stated. Nevertheless, the ultimate choice was entrusted to the Thai authorities.
