Kolkata Dr Rape and Murder case: TMCl responds to corruption accusation

Kolkata physician's sexual assault case: Trinamool responds to corruption accusation with video of parents

The Trinamool Party uploaded a video dismissing claims of bribes given by the Kolkata Police to the doctor's parents in the RG Kar hospital incident.

The Trinamool Congress has criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party and other parties for purportedly politicizing the passing of a female physician from a government hospital on August 9.

On Thursday, TMC leader and minister Shashi Panja accused the BJP of not pursuing justice, but instead exploiting the tragedy for their political advantage, while speaking to journalists.

The Trinamool Congress also unveiled a video during a media briefing to refute allegations of money being given by the Kolkata Police to the guardians of the intern doctor who was reportedly sexually assaulted and killed at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata.

The footage, allegedly recorded in the previous month, showcased the father of the aspiring physician refuting any claims of a bribe being presented to them as unfounded.

Residents protest against illegally built mosque in Shimla

In Shimla, locals are voicing their opposition to the unlawfully constructed mosque through protests.

The demonstrators were spotted chanting against the unlawful building work, clutching the National Flag in their grips.

A vast crowd assembled outside the Sanjauli Masjid in Shimla on Thursday to demonstrate against the purported unauthorized building of the mosque. The demonstrators consisted of residents from the area, party volunteers from the BJP, and individuals affiliated with Hindu groups.

The demonstrators were observed chanting against the unlawful building, clutching the National Flag in their palms. One of the demonstrators, Ankush Chauhan, who also happens to be a BJP supporter, called for the destruction of the mosque.

This mosque has been constructed unlawfully. Each of the mosque's four levels is considered unauthorized. If we build something unlawfully, it will be promptly destroyed. It has been a decade, yet no steps have been made regarding the mosque. "He said the unlawful mosque needs to be destroyed," he remarked, while also mentioning that the whole Hindu, Sanatani group is showing opposition. It has no relation to the BJP or the Congress. The Hindu community is challenging this issue. The protests are happening now because on Tuesday, a few Muslim males assaulted a fellow Hindu and caused him harm. This demonstration is the outcome of that event. An inquiry needs to be conducted regarding the rising population of Muslims in the state, regardless of whether they belong to the Rohingya or Bangladeshi community.

With reference to the existence of migrants in Himachal Pradesh, state minister Anirudh Singh mentioned that the Muslim community has lived harmoniously in the state for many years. Nonetheless, he voiced worry regarding the recent surge of individuals from different states, highlighting that the main concern is guaranteeing correct authentication of newcomers. There is no distinction between Hindus and Muslims among individuals arriving from different states. The actual worry is that we need to authenticate those arriving in Himachal Pradesh to avoid any security threats," he stated.

Anirudh Singh also observed the appearance of people from different nations and proposed a comprehensive inquiry into the history of these recent arrivals. He advocated for alertness in guaranteeing the well-being and protection of the area.

Prime Minister Modi arrives in Delhi after viting Singapore &Brunei

Prime Minister Modi arrives in Delhi after wrapping up a three-day trip to Singapore and Brunei.

Prime Minister Modi arrived at the Delhi airport late Thursday night following a significant trip to Singapore and Brunei. During his trip, India and Singapore agreed and signed four vital Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs).

Prime Minister Modi, after wrapping up a three-day visit to Singapore and Brunei, returned to New Delhi on Thursday. He praised Singapore as a blueprint for developing countries and mentioned that India aspired to establish a number of its own versions of Singapore during his discussions with Prime Minister Lawrence Wong.

While in India, the relationship between India and Singapore was upgraded to a "comprehensive strategic partnership" and four memoranda of understanding were signed, one of which focused on collaboration in the semiconductor sector. Companies in the affluent city-state committed to investing roughly USD 60 billion in the upcoming years. "Head of the government Narendramodi and LawrenceWongST, Minister of Education, had fruitful discussions earlier today." They discussed methods to further enhance the partnership between India and Singapore in important areas such as technology, healthcare, trade, training, and more,” stated the prime minister's office in a social media update on X.

Afterwards, Modi convened a discussion with prominent business executives and chief executive officers in Singapore, during which he discussed strategies to strengthen economic connections. Showing off the changes happening in India, which will stimulate investment and creativity, Modi urged business leaders from Singapore to explore investment prospects in India in industries such as aviation, energy, and skill enhancement.

During the meeting with corporate executives, Singaporean businesses pledged to invest approximately $60 billion (more than Rs 5 lakh crore) in the coming years, according to officials. "Joint efforts have been recognized in fields like training, digital advancement, movement, high-tech manufacturing, chips and AI, health care, environmental consciousness, and online security," Modi stated in his discussion with Wong.

ED Raids Sandip Ghoshs Residence

A letter, purportedly penned by ex-Chief of RG Kar Hospital, Sandip Ghosh, has surfaced, indicating a potential tampering of the crime scene where the intern doctor was sexually assaulted and killed. Sukanta Majumdar, the President of the BJP, mentioned in a social media post that the directive was issued by Sandip Ghosh, the ex-director of RG Kar Medical College, on August 10, just a day following the demise of the victim. Even though colleagues and protesters have accused the Police Commissioner of manipulating the crime scene, he has denied doing so." HT was unable to confirm the legitimacy of the directive.

The BJP has reiterated its call for the resignation of the chief minister, underscoring the importance of a just inquiry.

Based on a supposed letter received on August 10th, it was ordered for the Executive Engineer to swiftly begin the process of fixing, updating, and rebuilding the rooms for on-duty doctors and their respective connected bathrooms in every department of RG Kar Hospital in Kolkata. The letter pointed out "shortcomings" in the doctors' offices and connected bathrooms in different sections.

Presented are the new advancements

- On Thursday, the TMC refuted claims of a police concealment as asserted by the guardians of the female physician who purportedly experienced sexual assault and homicide. They claimed that a recently emerged video disputes the family's allegations by demonstrating their earlier contentment with the inquiry.

- In retaliation, the family asserted that the video was coercively captured by the authorities following the cremation.

- The family of the late doctor, who stood in solidarity with protesting doctors at RG Kar Hospital on Wednesday evening, alleged that the Kolkata Police was trying to cover up the case by hastily incinerating the remains.

- TMC captain Kunal Ghosh on Thursday called on President Droupadi Murmu and Union Home Minister Amit Shah to tackle the issue of crimes against women across the country. He also asserted that, typically, 90 such instances happen each day throughout the nation.

- Bratya Basu, the education minister of West Bengal and a prominent TMC member, mentioned that despite Kolkata Police providing the CBI with all necessary paperwork 23 days ago, there has been no substantial advancement or interaction from the organization.

- The corpse of the medical intern was found in the conference chamber of the medical center on August 9, sparking nationwide demonstrations. A community volunteer was taken into custody not long after, and the Central Bureau of Investigation also apprehended Sandip Ghosh for purported financial malpractice at the healthcare facility.

Muhammad Yunus's strong statement: 'If India wishes to retain Hasina, the requirement would be that she refrain from making any statements."

Bangladesh's temporary government leader Muhammad Yunus, for the first time since assuming the position, commented on former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's visit to India. Yunus stated that Hasina making political comments from India is a "hostile move" and she should keep quiet to avoid causing tension between both nations until Dhaka formally asks for her return.

"No one is at ease with her position in India since we desire her return for a trial." She is currently situated in India, occasionally engaging in conversations, which poses a challenge. If she had kept silent, it would have slipped from our minds; others would have also forgotten it as she would have been lost in her own thoughts. However, while located in India, she is talking and providing guidance. "No one enjoys it," he remarked.

Yunus seemed to be alluding to Hasina's remarks on August 13, calling for "fairness," stating that individuals linked to recent "acts of terror," murders, and destruction need to be examined, recognized, and penalized. "It is detrimental for both us and for India."

Word changer style: "It is unhealthy for us or for India." "He informed PTI that there is unease about it." Hasina renounced her position as the head of government and escaped to India on August 5th. When inquired about whether Bangladesh has conveyed its position to India, Yunus replied that it has been clearly and firmly communicated verbally that she should remain silent.

"All people grasp the concept." We have firmly stated that it is advisable for her to remain silent. This gesture towards us is not friendly; we have provided her refuge there and she is actively advocating from that location. She didn't just go there as per usual. He declared that she has escaped in the wake of a rebellion and widespread outrage from the public.

Yunus claimed that the transitional administration is dedicated to securing fairness for the citizens of Bangladesh in the face of the horrors, and fairness demands that she return to the nation. "Indeed, she must be returned, otherwise the citizens of Bangladesh will not experience tranquility. The type of horrific acts she has performed, she must face trial in front of everyone present," he stressed.

Yunus' firmly expressed communication arrives shortly after BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir stated the importance of initiating a fresh phase in Indo-Bangla relations, commencing with the handover of Hasina, as her ongoing stay in India could continue to harm the relationship between the two countries.
