According to CNN reporter Will Ripley, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's discussions with US President Donald Trump served as a ‘masterclass’ for leaders internationally. “We have witnessed, initially with Japanese Prime Minister Ishiba's very favorable meeting with Trump, and now what seems to be another successful meeting between Trump and Prime Minister Modi… this is an exemplary lesson for leaders everywhere on how to engage in negotiations with President Trump,” Ripley stated during a CNN segment. 

Ripley continued, “It's unclear if Prime Minister Modi was aware or anticipated President Trump’s announcement regarding reciprocal tariffs, which could lead to significant embarrassment for Modi if he returned to India without achieving meaningful results. However, by the conclusion of their meeting, they announced what can be seen as the best possible resolution for both parties.” Just before the meeting with Modi, Donald Trump unveiled a strategy to implement reciprocal tariffs, though these tariffs will not be enforced right away. 

The Republican leader, who has previously labeled India a ‘major abuser’ of tariffs, once again referenced the nation as he signed the executive order concerning reciprocal taxes. 

“There are a few smaller nations that impose higher tariffs, but India has incredibly high tariffs. I recall when Harley Davidson was unable to sell its motorcycles in India due to the steep taxes; the tariffs were so excessive that Harley had to establish… a factory in India to avoid those costs,” he commented.

Second US flight carrying Indian migrants to reach Amritsar today 

The second flight transporting Indian deportees from the United States is anticipated to land in Amritsar between 10 and 11 in the evening on Saturday. 

During the latest phase of deportations connected to President Donald Trump's immigration enforcement, 119 undocumented Indian nationals are scheduled to arrive at Amritsar International Airport in a US military aircraft on Saturday. 

A C-17 military plane from the US will transport 67 individuals from Punjab, 33 from Haryana, eight from Gujarat, three from Uttar Pradesh, two each from Rajasthan and Maharashtra, and one each from Goa, Jammu and Kashmir, and Himachal Pradesh. 

The flight is set to reach Amritsar Airport at approximately 10 pm on Saturday. The deportation process is expected to persist every two weeks until all undocumented immigrants have returned to their home country, as reported by the PTI news agency. 

Last week, 104 undocumented Indian immigrants were sent back from the US. They were flown to Amritsar on a C-17 transport aircraft provided by the US military.

The market responded positively to this agreement, with a drop in oil prices, an increase in stock futures, and expectations of enhancements in energy and agricultural trade, despite ongoing significant uncertainties.

The leaders of the United States and Russia, Trump and Putin, have concurred to commence peace talks regarding the Ukraine war. This initiative may mitigate geopolitical threats to the supply of Russian crude oil, affect global agricultural exchanges, and bolster financial market growth. The ‘Howdy Modi’ event occurred in 2019 at a football arena in Houston, attracting over 50,000 Indian-Americans, with speeches from both Modi and Trump. Just five months later, in February 2020, the ‘Namaste Trump’ gathering was hosted at the largest cricket stadium globally in Ahmedabad, reaffirming the strong relationship between India and the U.S.

This book illustrates significant instances from his presidency. Each selected photo and its related text highlight critical happenings such as the border wall project, his initiatives in appointing federal judges, the establishment of Space Force, and noteworthy dialogues with prominent global figures like Kim Jong-Un, Xi Jinping, and Vladimir Putin. F-35 stealth fighters agreement 

In addition to unveiling the book, Trump revealed that the U.S. would provide India with F-35 fighter jets, representing a major commitment to defense. He also reaffirmed intentions to boost military sales to India, promising several billion dollars in equipment to reinforce the defense alliance. 

As reported by Bloomberg, Trump stated, "We’re also paving the way to ultimately deliver F-35 stealth fighters to India." This reflects a substantial dedication to enhancing defense relations and greatly increasing military transactions. 

After a bilateral discussion, Trump was queried regarding who he thought was more adept at negotiating tariff arrangements during the discussions. He responded, "He (Prime Minister Modi) is a much tougher negotiator than I am, and he is a much better negotiator than I am. There is absolutely no comparison," he said with a grin.
