US issues dire warning on nuclear weapons, fearing all-out war "When that day comes..."
The White House issued a dire warning that the US may need to expand its nuclear arsenal as Russia, China and North Korea expand their nuclear programs at a "breathtaking pace" amid rising geopolitical tensions.
Dear Readers

"If our adversaries' arsenals remain unchanged, we could reach a point in the coming years where we will see increased military presence," Pranay Vadi, special assistant to the president and senior director for arms control at the White House, said in a briefing with the Arms Control Association. "We need weapons currently deployed in numbers that allow for arms control. If the president makes this decision, we must be well prepared to implement this decision. America will protect its people and Washington's allies and partners.
Vadi's statement came at a time of rising tensions between the US, Russia and China, raising fears of a full-scale conflict. Russia conducted a strategic nuclear weapons drill in May "in response to provocative statements and threats made by individual Western officials." Russian media have regularly threatened nuclear attacks against Western countries, including the United States, France, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands.
In his speech, Vadi warned that China, Russia and North Korea "are all expanding and diversifying their nuclear arsenals at breakneck speed, with little or no interest in arms control."
He said that with Iran's support, the three powers are increasingly cooperating and coordinating in ways that undermine peace and stability, endanger the United States and its closest allies and partners, and increase regional tensions. He also claimed that the countries share missile and drone technology.

In a "complex mission", Al-Ghamni was rescued along with three other hostages who were abducted by Hamas terrorists at the Supernova music festival in Israel on October 7 last year.
Al-Ghamani, a Chinese-born Israeli citizen, had been held captive for eight months. The 26-year-old was also seen hugging and kissing her father, Yaakov Al-Ghamani, after being reunited with him.
Another viral photo shows the father-daughter duo happily posing while drinking two bottles of Coca-Cola in a hospital room at Sheba Medical Center near Tel Aviv.

India has invited several leaders from neighbouring countries to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who will become Prime Minister for the third consecutive time. The ceremony will be held at Rashtrapati Bhavan today at 7.15 pm.
The same evening, the Council of Ministers will also take the oath of office and secrecy and become part of the Prime Minister's new Cabinet.
The Ministry of External Affairs said several heads of state have accepted the invitation and are expected to arrive in New Delhi on Sunday to attend the ceremony.
Heads of state who have confirmed their attendance
Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe
Maldives President Dr. Mohammed Muizz
Vice President of Seychelles His Excellency Ahmed Afif
Her Excellency Sheikh Hasina, Prime Minister of Bangladesh
Her Excellency Pravind Kumar Dahal, Prime Minister of Nepal
Bhutanese Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay
High alert will continue in the national capital on Sunday as SAARC (South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation) leaders prepare to attend the event, Delhi Police told news agency PTI. Major hotels like the Leela, Taj, ITC Maurya, Claridge's and Oberoi have already been kept under tight security. Authorities have established secure routes for dignitaries to travel between the hotels and the venue.
"Dignitaries attending the swearing-in ceremony will be provided with designated routes to and from the venue from their hotels," officials said.
Besides attending the swearing-in ceremony, the politicians will also attend a dinner hosted by President Dhruvdi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan in the evening. The meeting is aimed at facilitating high-level exchange of views and discussions on issues of common interest.
