The campaign stop was one of several that Trump will hold this week in key states as Democrats gather in Chicago to formally select Vice President Harris as his running mate in the Nov. 5 election. . Last month, a dozen white supremacists chanted "Heil Hitler" and carried "White Lives Matter" signs during a march in downtown Howell. Another group of protesters chanted "We love Hitler, we love Trump" from a highway bridge outside the city, according to local media. A spokesman for the Trump campaign said the former president will make it clear to Howell that "crime, violence and hate in all its forms will have no place in our country when he returns to the White House ". Supreme Court orders removal of name of hospital doctor RG Kar, photo from social media
The Supreme Court has ordered the removal from social media of the name, photos and videos of the practicing doctor who was raped and killed. A three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud observed that revealing the identity of a sexual assault victim was a violation of the Supreme Court order passed in the Nipun Saxena case, which emphasized the need to protect a victim from any control. Earlier in the day, the Supreme Court had said that it was very concerned that the name of the deceased was published on all social media.
“Photos and video clips are all over the media. "We are the first to recognize freedom of expression, but there are well-established parameters. There are court decisions such as in the Nipun Saxena case that the names of survivors of sexual assault will not be published," he said the Supreme Court.
In its 2018 decision on the Nipun Saxena case, the Supreme Court ordered: "No person shall print or publish in paper, electronics, social media, etc. the name of the victim or even remotely discover facts that may lead to the identification of the victim and who must make his identity known to the general public.

Today, Bharat Bandh: Dalit and adivasi groups call a national strike

Today, Bharat Bandh: Dalit and adivasi groups call a national strike. What are the requirements?
The requirements include, among other things, guaranteeing the protection of reserve rights. Emergency services and government offices must be functional 21`
Dalit and Adivasi organizations have called for a 'Bharat Bandh', a peaceful strike, on Wednesday to highlight their demand for greater representation of marginalized communities in jobs and education and also to ensure protection of their rights. The Bharat Bandh call comes in the backdrop of the recent Supreme Court judgment on quota sub-categorization for Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) groups and the controversy over lateral entry into public posts central French On August 1, a seven-judge bench headed by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud ruled by a 6-1 majority that other sub-classifications of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes by States may be allowed to provide quotas for the castes inferior disadvantaged in these. groups. On August 20, Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) Minister Jitendra Singh wrote to the UPSC chairman requesting the withdrawal of lateral recruitment advertisements for 45 posts of joint secretary, director and assistant secretary. Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi said the move was an attack on the reservation rights of Other Backward Classes (OBC) and SC/ST communities. Bandh Bharat was called by the National Confederation of Dalit and Adivasi Organizations (NACDAOR). She opposed the Supreme Court's decision saying it undermined the Court's earlier decision in the indira Sawhney case, which created the framework for reservation. NACDAOR published a list of questions that call on the government to ensure social justice and fair representation of these communities in work and education. Urging the government to reject the Supreme Court ruling, he called for a new central law, protected from judicial review by the New Schedule of the Constitution. In the past, the Supreme Court has held that placing a law under the Ninth Schedule does not protect it from judicial review. NACDAOR has also demanded immediate release of caste-based data of SC/ST/OBC employees in government services to ensure their accurate representation. The body has asked the government to publish data on the representation of these caste-based groups in public services. The group demanded filling of all vacancies in central and state government departments as well as in public sector undertakings. In the private sector, the body said that companies that receive subsidies or investments from the government must implement affirmative action policies in their companies. Political parties like Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), Congress and Rashtriya Janata Dal extended their support to Bharat Bandh today. Left parties also supported the strike call. Despite the lack of an official announcement, public services are expected to be affected in the states led by these parties. Emergency services such as hospitals, ambulances and medical facilities will remain operational. No official announcement has been made regarding the closure of banks, government offices and educational institutions. NACDAOR appealed to all OBC and SC/ST groups to participate peacefully in large numbers.

Supreme Court Hearing RG Kar Medical College Rape & Murder Cae

Supreme Court Hearing RG Kar Medical College Rape & Murder Cae

"The nation cannot wait for another violation for real change on the ground": Supreme Court

The Supreme Court, which heard the Calcutta hit-and-run case today, said the nation cannot wait for another violation to bring changes on the ground. The bench headed by DY Chandrachud also expressed deep displeasure with the West Bengal government and the hospital authorities over the delay in lodging the FIR and other procedural lapses in the handling of the case. "The medical profession has become vulnerable to violence. Due to entrenched patriarchal prejudices, female doctors are increasingly targeted. As more women join the workforce, the nation cannot wait for another violation because things vary on the ground,” CJI Chandrachud noted. During the hearing, Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud raised some pressing questions about the actions of the hospital administration and the local police.

"Why was the FIR registered three hours after the body was handed over for cremation," he asked the Supreme Court.

"What was the director doing?"

Only the Supreme Court has initiated investigations into the brutal rape and murder of a 31-year-old young doctor at the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata on August 9. The incident sparked widespread protests across the country. country and raised questions about the safety of women, especially in medical schools.

The three-judge bench is headed by CJI Chandrachud and includes Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra. - What was the boss doing? No investigation report was made, the dead body was handed over to the parents late. What are the police doing? A serious crime has been committed, the crime scene is in the hospital... What is he doing? "Leave the vandals in the hospital?" asked Chief Justice Chandrachud.

Sandip Ghosh, who resigned as principal of RG Kar Medical College just two days after the incident, was examined by the CBI and questioned for nearly 53 hours in the last four days about his actions after the death of the doctor.

In response to questions from the court, Kapil Sibal, representing the government of West Bengal, replied that people in the hospital had taken pictures, a case of unnatural death was immediately initiated and a commission was created in presence of a judicial magistrate. However, Chief Justice Chandrachud said it was the duty of the hospital to file the FIR, especially in the absence of the victim's parents. Justice Pardiwala questioned the chronology of the FIR, asking, “Who is the first informer to file the FIR? What is the timing of FIR? » Mr. Sibal replied that the first informant was the father of the victim, who filed the FIR at 11:45 PM, followed by the Deputy Director of the hospital.

CJI Chandrachud asked the time when the victim's body was handed over for cremation, which was said to be at 8.30 pm, and said the FIR was lodged three hours later. Post-mortem, conducted between 1.45 pm and 4.00 pm, revealed that the doctor had been murdered, but the FIR was registered much later. "What were the director of the hospital and the board of directors doing at this time?" asked CJI Chandrachud. "It seems that the crime was discovered in the morning. The director of the hospital tried to consider it a suicide and the parents were not allowed to see the body. No FIR has been lodged.”

The Chief Justice also noted that after the resignation of the principal, he was appointed as the principal of another college.

The Calcutta High Court has directed the West Bengal health department not to appoint Mr Ghosh to any other medical college until further orders. The order followed his brief and controversial appointment as head of the National Medical College and Hospital in Calcutta, which sparked protests from students and junior doctors.

National Working Group

The NTF has been asked to submit an interim report within three weeks and a final report within two months.
