Time is running out because with each passing day, the well-being and lives of the hostages are in danger. Time is of the essence because every day, women, children and men in Gaza suffer without access to adequate food and medicine and are at risk of injury or death,” said Blinken.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken ended his ninth wartime trip to the Middle East without a ceasefire agreement. At a press conference on Wednesday (August 21), he said time was running out to get the deal across the finish line.
"Time is of the essence, because with each passing day, the welfare and lives of the hostages are at risk. Time is running out as every day women, children and men in Gaza suffer without access to food and proper medicine and risk injury or death in the fight that has not yet begun. "Time is of the essence, because with each passing day, the risk of an escalation in the region is growing - an escalation that we have been working to avoid since the first day, October 7," he said.
