The Israeli military confirmed on Wednesday that an Israeli Air Force plane carried out a targeted attack against Khalil Hussein Khalil Al-Maqdah, a major terrorist, in the Sidon region of southern Lebanon.

The Israeli army clarified, through a statement in . The attack specifically targeted Khalil Hussein Khalil Al-Maqdah, a key figure linked to ongoing terrorist activity in the region.

Khalil Al-Maqdah is known for his involvement with Hezbollah and the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, which he works with his brother Munir Al-Maqdah. Munir, who resides in Lebanon, actively participated in the planning and execution of terrorist operations and facilitated the flow of funds and resources to terrorist groups operating in Judea and Samaria (West Bank). Both Khalil and Munir Al-Maqdah are deeply embedded in the operational and financial networks of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard. Its activities include orchestrating terrorist attacks and managing the transfer of funds and advanced weapons to extremist groups in Judea and Samaria. In this regard, it was revealed in March 2024 that a military officer was smuggled into the territories of Judea and Samaria and then joined the terrorist cells led by the Al-Maqdah brothers. These cells are part of a larger network that operates under the influence of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.

The Israeli military has identified key Iranian figures responsible for orchestrating these operations. Javad Efari, head of Division 4000 in the intelligence organization of the Revolutionary Guard, and Azhar Bakri, commander of Unit 840 in the Quds Force, are at the center of the coordination and execution of terrorist activities and the transfer of military resources.
