Mamata Banerjee responds to criticism from BJP: Denies ever making threats to doctors.

Mamata Banerjee, the chief minister of West Bengal, claimed on Thursday that a false information campaign was launched against her following her speech the day before. She stated that she did not speak negatively about medical students or their protest following the rape and murder of a doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata.

In a lengthy post on X, she stated that she observed a harmful false information campaign circulating in various forms of media, including print, electronic, and digital, following a speech she delivered at a recent student event.

Allow me to clearly state that I have not said anything negative about the (medical etc.) students or their actions. I am completely in favor of their cause. They are truly authentic in their actions. Some individuals have falsely accused me of making threats towards others, but that is not true. She went on to state that the accusation was entirely untrue.

She stated that she criticized the BJP in her address due to their actions that were undermining democracy in West Bengal.

I have criticized the BJP. I have raised concerns about them because, with the backing of the Indian government, they pose a threat to the democracy in our state and are attempting to incite chaos. She mentioned that they are attempting to incite chaos with the Centre's backing, and she has spoken out against them.

There are individuals who believe that this location is in Bangladesh. I have a deep affection for Bangladesh; the people there communicate in a similar manner to us and embrace our cultural traditions. Keep in mind that Bangladesh and India are individual and distinct countries. Modi Babu is utilizing his political party to ignite a situation here. She warned that if Bengal, Assam, North-East, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, and Delhi are set on fire, there will be consequences. "We will overthrow you from power," she declared.

In response to the comment, the BJP today drew a comparison between her and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
