US Readout Almost Confirms PM Modi's US Visit in September, Skips Bangladesh Mention
The latest update from the US strongly suggests that Prime Minister Modi will be visiting the country in September, but does not mention anything about a visit to Bangladesh.
The Indian statement mentioned that both leaders focused on guaranteeing the safety and security of minorities, specifically Hindus, in Bangladesh, even though the US report did not address this issue.
Narendra Modi's upcoming trip to the USA in September was strongly suggested as US President Joe Biden and the prime minister talked about the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) meetings scheduled for next month in New York.
This upcoming visit holds significance following Prime Minister Modi's recent trips to Russia and Ukraine, and comes before the upcoming US Presidential elections in November. President Joseph R. should be the head of state. Biden, Jr. can be rephrased as Joe Biden's son. The White House released a statement saying they talked with Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India today about his recent visits to Poland and Ukraine, as well as his upcoming attendance at the United Nations General Assembly in September. PM Modi is anticipated to participate in the UN General Assembly High-Level Week, commencing with the 'Summit of the Future' on September 22-23 this year. According to the preliminary list of speakers, the prime minister is scheduled to speak at the United Nations General Assembly during the ‘General Debate’ on September 26th. This speech at the UN will mark Biden's final appearance as President of the United States. PM Modi is scheduled to attend a major Indian community event in New York on September 22.
The topics discussed by Modi and Biden
According to a statement from India, both leaders expressed mutual concern regarding the situation in Bangladesh. The statement from India highlighted the importance of restoring law and order, as well as ensuring the safety and security of minorities, specifically Hindus, in Bangladesh.
The US official statement did not include any reference to Bangladesh.
During the conversation about the situation in Ukraine, Prime Minister Modi updated President Biden on his recent trip to the country. The Indian statement emphasized India's constant stance supporting dialogue and diplomacy, and showed full backing for the prompt restoration of peace and stability.
According to the US statement, Biden praised the Prime Minister for his significant trips to Poland and Ukraine, which marked the first time an Indian Prime Minister had visited the countries in years. The US also acknowledged the Prime Minister's efforts in advocating for peace and providing ongoing humanitarian assistance to Ukraine, particularly in the energy industry.
The Indian government mentioned that Prime Minister Modi expressed gratitude to President Biden for his strong dedication to the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership, which is founded on mutual values of democracy, rule of law, and close personal connections between the two nations.
After hunting Haniyeh, Israel on prowl for Sinwar
Israel is currently targeting Sinwar, leader of Hamas, after previously targeting Haniyeh. However, there is a complication in their plan.
Israel is now searching for Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar after killing Ismail Haniyeh in Iran. The US and Israel have been working together for over 10 months to locate Sinwar's position and eliminate him, but it seems that the operation may be prolonged.
According to sources from both countries, as reported in The New York Times, the agreement between the United States and Israel is seen as heavily favoring Israel, with the US not receiving an equal benefit.
The White House has allegedly provided details on Hamas leaders aside from Sinwar in exchange for Israeli intelligence on other American hostages held by Hamas. However, Israel has not been as cooperative in sharing information.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu believes that eliminating Sinwar would convey a strong message that Hamas' senior leadership has been eradicated, potentially facilitating an end to the ongoing military operations in Gaza.
The task has become challenging, particularly since Sinwar began using analog communication methods. The report stated that initially, Sinwar relied on electronic communications at the start of the war. However, due to a lack of fuel to operate generators, Sinwar resorted to using couriers to avoid being intercepted.
The collaborative Israeli-American intelligence unit established to monitor Sinwar is still working together, but with neither side revealing their strategies, the Hamas leader continues to evade capture and enjoy a fortunate existence. Sinwar, born in Khan Younis in 1962, is regarded as one of the most steadfast leaders in Hamas. During the early 1980s, Sinwar was consistently detained by Israel for his participation in protests against occupation that took place at the Islamic University in Gaza.
After Sinwar finished his studies, he established a group of militants who were taught to engage in armed combat against Israel. Afterwards, this faction evolved into the infamous Qassam Brigades, the armed branch of Hamas.
Sinwar, in collaboration with the late Mohammed Deif, who was the leader of Qassam Brigades, orchestrated the attacks on October 7. These attacks were planned in response to an IDF raid on Al Aqsa mosque in May 2021.

Demand for Mamata's resignation intensifies as tension mounts during 'Nabanna Abhijan' protest in Kolkata
'Demand for Mamata's resignation intensifies as tension mounts during 'Nabanna Abhijan' protest in Kolkata following doctor's rape-murder.'
'Nabanna Abhijan': 4,500 police officers will be stationed at 7 different locations in Kolkata and Howrah to block protesters from reaching the state secretariat.
Tensions were present in the West Bengal government as some called for a 'Nabanna Abhijan' or a march to the state secretariat in Kolkata on August 27th. They were demanding the resignation of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee following the alleged rape and murder of a 31-year-old female trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital.
The 'Paschimbanga Chhatro Samaj' student organization claimed that their August 27 'Nabanna Abhijan' rally would be nonviolent and centered on calling for Mamata Banerjee's resignation and the arrest of the perpetrators of the rape-murder case. However, Kolkata's additional commissioner of police, Supratim Sarkar, announced on Monday that the group's request to conduct the march has been denied.
The unregistered student group West Bengal Students Community and the organization Sangrami Joutha Mancha have both separately called for the Nabanna Abhijan. The Sangrami Joutha Mancha is made up of state government employees who have been protesting for a while now to have their DA equal to that of central government employees.
The West Bengal Police has deemed the planned marches, which have mostly gained support through social media, as "unlawful" and "unapproved", and has assured the public that measures have been taken to address any concerns about potential disturbances to law and order during the demonstration.
Sayan Lahiri, spokesperson for the Chatra Samaj, stated that the planned march to the state secretariat Nabanna would not cause any disruptions for UGC-NET candidates, as the examination will take place in two separate shifts. The UGC-NET is conducted to assess qualifications for assistant professor roles in higher education institutions and for junior research fellowships (JRF). The exam will take place in two sessions: one from 9:30am to 12:30pm and the other from 3pm to 6pm.
According to a report from news agency PTI, ADG (law and order) Manoj Verma stated at Nabanna that the police have been informed of potential efforts by troublemakers to infiltrate protests and stir up significant trouble and disorder during the rally. The state government has implemented a ban on gatherings of more than five people near Nabanna under Section 163 of the BNSS.
The Times of India stated that approximately 4,500 police officers will be stationed at seven points in Kolkata and Howrah to block protesters from reaching Nabanna.
The report mentioned that riot-control vehicles, water cannons, tear gas shells, guard rails, aluminium alloy walls, and drones will be used at various locations in Kolkata to deter protesters.
The Trinamool Congress labeled the rally as a plot to create disorder on the streets and disclosed several videos allegedly showing Bharatiya Janata Party leaders from Ghatal in Paschim Medinipur district scheming to provoke violence at the event. Both leaders were taken into police custody for interrogation.
The Bengal BJP announced on Monday that they will not be participating in the Nabanna Abhijan, but they are willing to show support for any form of protest that aims to seek justice for the victim of the RG Kar hospital rape-murder. This includes supporting movements regardless of political affiliations. Sukanta Majumdar, the president of the BJP in Bengal, claimed that manipulated videos are being shared to discredit a movement that is not related to politics.
In a video message released by the Raj Bhavan on Monday night, Governor CV Ananda Bose advised the state government against using force to prevent students from organizing the rally.
The violent sexual assault and killing of a female medical student at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital sparked anger and condemnation across the nation. The nation was deeply impacted by the incident, leading to a series of protests calling for justice for the victim.
