A senior diplomat questioned why, if the case against Nijjar is so straightforward as Trudeau claims, the charge sheet was filed by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. They also questioned the lack of evidence linking Indian agents to the murder. 

Trudeau is suspected of using statements from SFJ's counsel to the Foreign Interference Commission for electoral gain, as the inquiry did not allow opposing organizations to participate in the public hearing. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is scheduled to testify before the Commission on October 16. He is slated to appear the day after another Minister will provide testimony before the Commission. "It is a unilateral investigation...an illegitimate one...with the sole purpose of tarnishing the reputation of India and its government," stated a senior security official.

UNIFIL stated, "At approximately 4:30 am, two IDF Merkava tanks forcibly entered the position in the Ramia area by destroying the main gate while peacekeepers were in shelters. The tanks left the position 45 minutes later." This incident took place following the Israeli soldiers' interruption of a vital UNIFIL logistical operation near Mais al-Jabal. Additionally, Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz issued a statement declaring UN Secretary-General António Guterres persona non grata, thereby restricting his entry into Israel. He rebuked Guterres for his failure to denounce Iran's missile attack on Israel, alleging antisemitic and anti-Israel conduct.

Citing a recent survey indicating 87% of Israelis supporting this stance, he implied widespread disapproval of Guterres' actions.

Katz asserted, "Despite seeking backing from UN member nations, Guterres' decision is unlikely to shift," underscoring the Israeli government's discontent with the UN and accentuating the growing rift between the international organization and a nation embroiled in conflict with Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon.

The latest drills, named Joint Sword-2024B, are seen as a continuation of those conducted five months ago. Bomb alert Air India flight: Mumbai to New York flight receives bomb threat

 

A New York-bound flight carrying 239 passengers landed in Delhi after a security alert. Standard safety procedures are being implemented under the supervision of a senior police official. The Air India flight, originally destined for New York from Mumbai, was rerouted to Delhi due to a security issue. The flight, carrying 239 individuals, conducted an emergency landing at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport. All passengers and crew members were safely evacuated.

"Flight AI119, which was en route from Mumbai to JFK on October 14, received a security alert and was diverted to Delhi as per the instructions of the government's security regulatory committee." An Air India spokesperson confirmed that all passengers have exited the aircraft and are currently located at the Delhi airport terminal. The aircraft was situated on a designated isolation runway at the airport, where security agencies, including a bomb squad team, performed comprehensive inspections.
