Donald Trump has appointed Mike Waltz, as his new National Security Adviser

Donald Trump has appointed Mike Waltz, the head of the India Caucus, as his new National Security Adviser. Waltz, a 50-year-old retired Army colonel who served as a Green Beret, is a Congressman from Florida. He has been a member of the US House of Representatives since 2019. This appointment is seen as significant for India from the incoming administration of President-elect Donald Trump. He has been a strong critic of President Joe Biden's foreign policy and is a member of the House Armed Services Committee, House Foreign Affairs Committee, and the House Intelligence Committee this term.

He has urged Europe to increase its support for Ukraine and has advocated for the US to take a tougher stance in its support, in line with a major foreign policy objective of the President-elect. He has also been a strong critic of the Biden administration's 2021 withdrawal from Afghanistan.

Waltz has praised Trump for pushing NATO allies to spend more on defense, but unlike the President-elect has not suggested the US pull out of the alliance.

"Look we can be allies and friends and have tough conversations," Waltz said last month.

Waltz is also on the Republican's China taskforce and has argued the US military is not as prepared as it needs to be if there is conflict in the Indo-Pacific region.

Waltz had been open about his willingness to serve in the administration and was considered a candidate to lead the Pentagon. The National Security Adviser position does not require Senate confirmation. Waltz serves as a co-chair of the India Caucus in the House, the largest country-specific group in the US Congress. Trump has rapidly announced key personnel for his incoming administration, such as Susan Wiles, his White House Chief of Staff, who will be the first woman to hold this position. Other appointments made by Trump include Stephen Miller as a senior adviser, who is a prominent critic of the H-1b visa program that he attempted to terminate during Trump's first administration. The President-elect has swiftly put together a team of senior staff members following his victory in last week's election. He has already named Tom Homan as his "border czar," Elise Stefanik as US ambassador to the United Nations, and Lee Zeldin as administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency.

Elon Musk's Starlink has accepted data security regulations

A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket is launched, carrying 23 Starlink satellites into low Earth orbit

Elon Musk's Starlink has accepted data security regulations, allowing their satellite communications license application to progress, according to a report. The rules require that companies like Starlink operating in India store all data within the country. This requirement was a major issue during the conflict between Starlink and Jeff Bezos' Kuiper over their attempts to enter the Indian market. The security guidelines require that a satellite communications company operating in India store all data within the country only. However, Starlink has not yet submitted its agreement, as reported. Additionally, it is required to demonstrate how intelligence agencies can intercept data if needed.

Starlink's 2022 application for the Global Mobile Personal Communication by Satellite Services (GMPCS) license is the initial step towards obtaining a trial spectrum at a nominal application fee. The company has also sought authorization from the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorization Centre (IN-SPACe), the space regulator, which, according to the report, has progressed. The services will begin after the government sets pricing and spectrum allocation rules, following the TRAI's release of recommendations by the end of December.

Big Revelations Follow Arrest Of Main Accused In Baba Siddique Murder

Major discoveries are uncovered following the apprehension of the primary suspect in the homicide of Maharashtra politician Baba Siddique. Shiv Kumar Gautam was taken into custody from Uttar Pradesh's Bahraich on Sunday. Subsequent to his arrest, Shiv Kumar Gautam, the main suspect in the murder case of Maharashtra politician Baba Siddique, disclosed crucial information. He was apprehended from Uttar Pradesh's Bahraich on Sunday. While being questioned, the 20-year-old revealed details to the police about his connection with Anmol Bishnoi, the brother of imprisoned criminal Lawrence Bishnoi, and his escape following the murder of Baba Siddique. Shiv Kumar and his four accomplices were apprehended in Bahraich as they attempted to escape to Nepal. He is one of the three gunmen who killed Mr. Siddique outside his son Zeeshan Siddique's office in Mumbai on October 12th. While the other two individuals were arrested, he successfully evaded capture. According to police sources, during questioning, he claimed that Anmol Bishnoi, the brother of incarcerated gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, instructed him to shoot the 66-year-old NCP leader or his son Zeeshan. Anmol allegedly advised Shiv Kumar to shoot the first person he saw. Before committing the crime, Anmol Bishnoi, who is reportedly in Canada and is also wanted by the National Investigation Agency, motivated Shiv Kumar. Mumbai police crime branch sources indicated that Anmol justified the planned murder as serving "God and society." A photograph of Zeeshan Siddique, 32, was discovered on a cellphone seized from one of the three assailants who shot his father. After killing Baba Siddique, Shiv Kumar Gautam promptly changed his attire and disappeared into a crowd to avoid being identified, as per Mumbai police crime branch sources. He remained near the crime scene to prevent any possible confrontation. Initially, the 20-year-old took an autorickshaw from the crime scene to Kurla and then boarded a local train to Thane, according to sources. From Thane, he traveled by train to Pune, discarding his mobile phone along the way. Shiv Kumar spent about seven days in Pune before journeying to Jhansi in Uttar Pradesh by train. He later spent five days there and visited the state capital Lucknow. When he arrived in Lucknow, he purchased a new cell phone and got in touch with his assistants. After spending 11 days, he journeyed to his hometown of Bahraich and connected with his associates, who had prepared a hiding place for him in a nearby village. Shiv Kumar shared that his initial plan after eliminating Baba Siddique was to travel to Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh and then to Vaishno Devi in Jammu before fleeing the country.

How Shiv Kumar Gautam Was Apprehended

Police investigators followed approximately 45 individuals, including Shiv Kumar Gautam's relatives and close associates, monitoring their movements following Baba Siddique's killing. Through their inquiries, they narrowed down their focus to four people who maintained regular communication with Shiv Kumar. The authorities subsequently set a trap, anticipating an encounter between these four suspects and Shiv Kumar. They subsequently apprehended him in the Nanpara region of Bahraich on Sunday. He was apprehended in a collaborative effort by police authorities from Uttar Pradesh and Mumbai. Anurag Kashyap, Gyan Prakash Tripathi, Akash Srivastava, and Akhileshendra Pratap Singh were also detained for providing refuge to Shiv Kumar and assisting him in fleeing to Nepal.

"We see eye to eye on Iran": Netanyahu after speaking with Trump 3 times since his poll win

Benjamin Netanyahu spoke with Donald Trump to strengthen the alliance between Israel and the United States.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday that he spoke with incoming US President-elect Donald Trump three times over the past few days to strengthen the alliance between the two countries, news agency Reuters reported.

These were good and very important conversations. We agree on the Iranian threat and the danger it presents, in all aspects. Netanyahu stated, "We also see the great opportunities before Israel, in the field of peace and its expansion, and in other fields." Analysts suggest Netanyahu had hoped for Trump's win due to their enduring personal bond. Trump's aggressive position on Iran and various actions during his initial term as US president solidified their ties.

In December 2017, Trump acknowledged Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and dispatched his daughter, Ivanka Trump, to the opening of a new US embassy in Jerusalem, which had been moved from Israel's capital, Tel Aviv. His government also acknowledged Israel's control over the Golan Heights, which is a region in Syria that has been occupied by Israel since the Arab-Israel War in 1967.
