Ahead of the much-awaited Lok Sabha elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a 10-day visit to 12 states and Union Territories (UTs) across the country and attend 29 engagements, starting Monday, March 4.

Party president Vinod Todd announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will contest from Varanasi. The initial list included 34 federal and state leaders, including two former leaders, Todd said.

Besides Modi, the BJP's first list includes Kiren Rijiju from Western Arunachal Pradesh, Sarbanand from Dibrugarh Sarbananda Sonowal, Manoj Tiwari from Northeast Delhi, Bansuri Swaraj from New Delhi, Ami Amit Shah from Gandhinagar and Mansukh. Mansukh is included. Godda is Nishikant Dubey's Patil Nirahua. Bandi Sanjay Kumar of Section Kota, Karimnagar, G Kishen Reddy of Secunderabad.
