US President Joe Biden marked the occasion of Diwali at the White House, where he addressed a gathering of over 600 Indian American congressmen, executives, and influential figures. During the event, Biden expressed his pride in Vice President Kamala Harris and lauded her achievements. 

Reported by news agency PTI, the celebration was held on Monday and showcased the President's appreciation for the Diwali festivities. In my capacity as President, I have had the privilege of hosting the largest Diwali receptions in the history of the White House.

To me, this holds significant importance. "As a Senator, Vice President, and President, South Asian Americans have played vital roles on my team," stated the President of the United States during his address to Indian American congressmen, officials, and corporate executives nationwide.

"From Kamala to Dr. Addressing many of you present here today, I am proud to have honored my pledge to have an administration that reflects the diversity of America," remarked Joe Biden. Biden's address was prefaced by introductory remarks from Indian American youth activist Shrusti Amula and speeches from Vice Admiral Vivek H. Murthy, the US Surgeon General; and Sunita Williams, the retired Navy officer and NASA Astronaut, who delivered a recorded video message from the International Space Station.

The injured individuals have been transferred to multiple hospitals in Kasargod, Kannur, and Mangaluru.

More than 150 individuals sustained injuries, with eight in critical condition, following a fireworks accident at a temple festival near Neeleswaram in Kasaragod, Kerala, late on Monday as reported by news agency PTI, citing police sources. The wounded have been transported to different medical facilities in Kasargod, Kannur, and Mangaluru. There is reason to believe that the incident occurred when a fireworks storage site located in close proximity to Veerarkavu Temple was engulfed in flames. The accident took place at midnight, according to the report. 

Authorities are investigating the fire's cause, while local communities are rallying together to assist the victims and their families.

Indian Army dog Phantom killed in action during anti-terror ops in J&K's Akhnoor

A gun fight began around 7 am  when terrorists attacked Army ambulance that was part of convoy  in general area battal of Akhnoor.

In an eight-hour gunbattle on Monday between terrorists and security forces along the Line of Control in Jammu's Akhnoor sector, Indian Army dog Phantom lost his life.  

The gunfight began around 7 am when terrorists attacked an ambulance that was part of an army convoy in the Battal area of Akhnoor Khour, approximately 85 km from Jammu city.

“As our troops closed in on the trapped terrorists, Phantom drew enemy fire, sustaining fatal injuries. His courage, loyalty, and dedication will never be forgotten. So far in the ongoing operation, one terrorist has been neutralized, and warlike stores have been recovered,” White Knight Corps said in a post on X.

During an incident earlier today, militants targeted an army vehicle and ambulance, prompting a firefight to ensue. According to reports from official sources, the bodies of the three militants were recovered following the exchange of gunfire. The Army vehicle was fired upon by three terrorists in the Batal area around 7 am. The area was promptly cordoned off by security forces, who subsequently initiated a manhunt, as per sources.

The incident occurred while security forces in Jammu and Kashmir had put in place extensive security measures in the Jammu region ahead of the Diwali festival season.

Unfortunately, over the past week, at least 12 individuals, including two soldiers, have lost their lives in various gunfights in Jammu and Kashmir, particularly in the valley.

On October 24, terrorists ambushed an Army vehicle near Gulmarg in Baramulla, resulting in the deaths of two soldiers and two porters. Earlier that day, a teenager from Uttar Pradesh was injured in a separate attack in Tral, marking the third incident targeting migrant workers in Kashmir within a week.

Furthermore, on October 20, terrorists took the lives of seven individuals, including a doctor and six migrant workers, at a construction site in Sonamarg, Ganderbal district. Another migrant worker from Bihar was assaulted just 48 hours prior to this event. Due to the series of terrorist attacks, a meeting was convened at the residence of the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir on October 24th. An official reported that the investigation into the Ganderbal district attack has revealed considerable deficiencies in intelligence and undetected infiltration along the Line of Control (LoC) over the past year.

This event was seen as unlikely to sway New York's Democratic leaning. The rally drew a large crowd of supporters, marking Trump's return to the city where he gained fame as a property developer before entering politics. Alongside Trump, other notable speakers included Elon Musk, JD Vance, Tulsi Gabbard, Rudy Giuliani, Dana White, Tony Hinchcliffe, Hulk Hogan, and Robert F Kennedy Jr. Key statements from the rally included "Kamala, you're fired!" Trump reiterated the famous line he used as host of "The Apprentice." "You have ruined our country." "We refuse to accept this any longer, Kamala," stated the 78-year-old Trump at a rally. "We will swiftly combat inflation and restore affordability to America," he added. Trump also declared, "In a clash with China, we will emerge victorious," emphasizing, "Our military is unrivaled." 

Furthermore, he asserted that as president, Russia would not have invaded Ukraine or Hamas would not have attacked Israel. "Ukraine held significant importance for him (Putin), however, I cautioned Vladimir against intervening," commented Trump. We hold a common aspiration.

Elon Musk asserted his intention to reduce the existing federal budget of $6.5 trillion by $2 trillion. Musk stated, "Your funds are being squandered." "We aim to reduce government intervention and lessen financial burden on individuals. Currently, there is a significant accumulation of debris forming a floating island in the ocean." Tony Hinchcliffe stated, "I believe it is referred to as Puerto Rico." 

He proceeded to ridicule Hispanics for their perceived lack of birth control usage, Jews for their perceived frugality, and Palestinians as individuals who throw rocks. "I do not take chances with those who are indoctrinated to harm Americans from a young age," stated Rudy Giuliani. "I align with Israel." Tucker Carlson, a former host at Fox News, mocked Kamala Harris, whose mother is of Indian descent, as "Samoan, Malaysian, and low-IQ."
