BPSC Exam Leak: Supreme Court declines to hear request for exam cancellation 

The Supreme Court indicated that it would be more suitable and quicker for the individual to go to the Patna High Court to request the annulment of the BPSC's 70th Combined Competitive Exams (preliminary). 

On Tuesday, the Supreme Court did not accept a request for the cancellation of the 70th Combined Competitive Exams (preliminary) held by the Bihar Public Services Commission (BPSC) due to allegations of a paper leak, advising the applicant to first approach the Patna High Court. 

Chief Justice of India Sanjiv Khanna led a three-judge panel and stated that the Supreme Court should not be the initial court for all matters, recommending that the litigants seek relief from the High Court. The representative for the petitioner, Anand Legal Aid Forum Trust, brought up the issue of the police lathi-charge against demonstrators who were protesting the alleged leak. He informed the panel, which included Justices Sanjay Kumar and K V Viswanathan, that "the entire country has witnessed the Bihar Police's harsh treatment of the protesters with their lathi charges."

Delhi election dates: Voting will be held in all 70 constituencies on February 5, and counting of votes will take place on February 8.

While announcing the Delhi assembly election schedule, Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar said that like Maharshtra Polls, the voting will take place on a Wednesday.

“Date of polling is February 5 and counting is on 8. Again, we have deliberately kept voting on a Wednesday. We think all Delhi voters should cast their votes. Like Maharashtra, we have scheduled voting on a Wednesday. Entire election process after counting will be complete by February 10,” the CEC said.

According to the EC, the last date of filing nominations is January 17. The date for scrutiny of nominations is January 18. While last date for withdrawal of candidature is January 20.

This mission represents an innovative dual-band radar satellite designed to assess land shifts caused by earthquakes, landslides, and volcanic activity, generating valuable data for scientific research and emergency response efforts. It will observe the progression or regressing of ice sheets and glaciers, as well as the changes in forest and wetland areas, contributing to our understanding of the global carbon cycle.

While the effects of NISAR are set to be broad-reaching, the journey leading to its launch — scheduled for a few months ahead — has been noteworthy as well. Paul Rosen, who serves as NISAR’s project scientist at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Southern California, has been involved throughout the entire process. The surfaces of our planet are in a constant state of transformation — sometimes these changes are subtle, while other times they are significant and abrupt. With NISAR, we will be able to monitor these changes approximately every week, with each pixel representing an area roughly the size of half a tennis court. Capturing images of almost all terrestrial and glacial regions so regularly and at such a precise scale — down to centimeters — will enable us to assemble a comprehensive understanding of Earth, depicting it as a dynamic living system.
