“They will articulate whatever aligns with their own interests. Our focus in America should be on what serves the needs of our citizens,” stated Gabbard. “Numerous Americans are acknowledging the strong leadership exhibited by President Trump and Vice President Vance during the Oval Office discussions.”


She went on to claim that the Biden administration has fallen short in providing such effective leadership and commended Trump for emphasizing peace talks. Gabbard maintained that European leaders are compromising democratic values by introducing restrictive measures while professing to champion freedom. She added, “We clearly saw during Vice President Vance’s address in Munich various instances of how these European nations and longstanding allies are, in reality, adopting policies that weaken democracy. Today, officials reported that at least 41 employees from the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) are trapped beneath an avalanche in the Chamoli area of Uttarakhand. This incident happened near the border village of Mana, which is situated about five kilometers away from the Badrinath temple.


Out of 57 workers, 16 individuals have been rescued and transported to an army facility near Mana village, albeit in critical condition, as per an official statement. 

Three to four ambulances have been dispatched to the scene, but heavy snowfall has caused delays, according to BRO Executive Engineer CR Meena in a report by ANI. 

"The weather conditions involve active rain and snowfall, making it impossible to deploy helicopters. Traveling has become challenging," explained Chamoli District Magistrate Sandeep Tiwari.


A team from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) has departed from Joshimath. The army has been called in to help clear the blocked route at Lambagad, where road access is currently hindered. Another team remains on standby at the Sahastradhara helipad. Once the weather improves, the SDRF’s high-altitude rescue team will be airlifted to the closest accessible site.


The SDRF's drone unit is also prepared. Nevertheless, drone activities are currently unfeasible due to the substantial snowfall, as stated by Ridhim Agarwal, Inspector General of Police for SDRF.


Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed his "sadness" regarding the situation and assured that rescue and relief efforts are in progress. He stated, "I pray to Lord Badri Vishal for the safety of all the laborers."

The police in Pune took the suspect, Dattatraya Gade, into custody around midnight in the Shirur area of the city. 

On Friday, Pune authorities arrested the individual accused of sexually assaulting a 26-year-old woman in a parked bus at the Swargate bus depot. 

“Suspect Dattatraya Ramdas Gade has been officially detained,” stated DCP Smarthana Patil of the Pune City Police, as reported by ANI.


Gade is implicated in several cases involving theft, robbery, and chain-snatching across Pune and Ahilyanagar regions. He has been on bail since 2019 for one of those charges.


Drones and canine units sent to capture the suspect


On Thursday, Pune law enforcement utilized drones and canine units in Shirur to locate Gade, who is accused of assaulting the woman in a Shiv Shahi bus belonging to the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) at the Swargate bus terminal in Pune two days prior.


At least 13 police units were organized to track down Gade, who lives in Gunat village, Pune.


According to officials, both Pune City and Pune Rural Police commenced a search operation in Gunat village, which included checking sugarcane fields, employing drones, and canine squads. Reports indicated that over 100 officers arrived at the village.
