In custody for purportedly trafficking gold, Ranya Rao asserts she "is not receiving adequate rest."

The Kannada actress Ranya Rao was apprehended at Kempegowda International Airport when authorities discovered 14 kilograms of illicit gold in her belongings.

This week, Ranya Rao faces serious legal issues after 14 kilograms of smuggled gold were seized from her at Kempegowda International Airport. Reports from NDTV indicate that the actress has admitted to the accusations. She also expressed in her remarks that she has not been able to rest properly. Ranya has been placed under judicial custody from March 4 to March 18. In her declaration, Ranya Rao stated, “I have traveled through Europe, America, and the Middle East, including visits to Dubai and Saudi Arabia. I would like to mention that I feel exhausted currently as I haven't had adequate rest.” She further noted that food was offered to her, but she chose not to eat anything. Ranya emphasized in her statement that her trial was just, asserting that her confession was made willingly and without pressure.

What is the situation?

Ranya, recognized for her performances in Kannada movies like "Maanikya" and "Pataki," was taken into custody earlier this week by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) at Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) in relation to a gold smuggling investigation following her return from Dubai on March 3.

Amit Shah criticizes Stalin regarding the three-language policy; urges CM to provide medical and engineering education in Tamil

IN THE midst of the language debate between the DMK and the central government, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday encouraged Chief Minister MK Stalin to facilitate medical and engineering education in the Tamil language, stressing the importance of learning in one's native tongue.

While speaking at the 56th Raising Day Parade of the CISF in Thakkolam, Shah called upon the state government to take cues from other regions that have already adopted similar measures.

“I request the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu to take lessons from other states that have made efforts to provide medical and engineering education in their local languages. It is my heartfelt desire that Tamil Nadu also offers such programs in Tamil,” he stated.

It is important to mention that Tamil Nadu began offering engineering degrees in Tamil in the 2010-11 academic year in civil and mechanical disciplines at select colleges. “Shah pointed out that individuals taking the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) examination now have the option to sit for it in all languages recognized by the Constitution’s Eighth Schedule, including Tamil.

“Previously, there was no opportunity for a mother tongue in the CAPF recruitment process. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has ensured that our youth can now take CAPF exams in their own languages,” he added.

While emphasizing the choice to name the CISF Regional Training Centre in Tamil Nadu after Rajaditya Chola, he remarked, “It was on this very soil that Rajaditya Chola penned numerous stories of bravery, gave his life, and upheld the distinguished traditions of the Chola dynasty.”

Before supporters of MAGA get overly excited about President Donald Trump putting tariffs on imports, numerous individuals in the United States are stepping up to clarify how such tariffs might actually harm American producers and companies. They are educating the MAGA supporters on how tariffs placed on nations like India and China ultimately lead to increased prices for everyday Americans.

Trump has recently declared reciprocal tariffs on major trading nations, including India, for engaging in trade practices deemed "unfair to Americans." During his address to the US Congress on March 4, Trump vowed to introduce reciprocal tariffs starting April 2 on India, China, and other trading nations for their "unfair trade policies toward Americans."

"India imposes tariffs on us that exceed 100 percent, while China's average tariff on our goods is double what we apply to them, and South Korea's average tariff is quadruple," Trump stated.
