Secretive Iranian military bases were targeted in Israel's inaugural 'public' assault

Secretive Iranian military bases were targeted in Israel's inaugural 'public' assault. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei characterized Israel's strike as not to be sensationalized or trivialized. He refrained from advocating for an immediate retaliatory strike.

An Israeli assault on Iran caused damage to facilities at a covert military base located southeast of the Iranian capital, which experts have previously associated with Tehran's former nuclear weapons program. Satellite images examined on Sunday by The Associated Press revealed the destruction at this base as well as another facility connected to Iran's ballistic missile program.

The affected structures were situated within Iran's Parchin military base, where the International Atomic Energy Agency has raised concerns about possible tests involving high explosives for triggering a nuclear weapon in the past. Iran has consistently maintained that its nuclear program is peaceful, despite assertions from the IAEA, Western intelligence agencies, and others that Tehran had an active weapons program until 2003.

Damage from the recent attack can also be observed at the nearby Khojir military base, suspected to house an underground tunnel system and missile production facilities. The Iranian military has not officially acknowledged the damage inflicted by Israel's attack on Saturday, which reportedly resulted in the deaths of four Iranian soldiers involved in the country's air defense systems at Khojir or Parchin military bases.

Iran reported on Sunday that a civilian had also been killed, however, no further information was given. Iran's representatives at the United Nations did not respond to a comment request. The Israeli military abstained from providing a comment. The Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei advised on Sunday that the Israeli attack should be neither exaggerated nor downplayed, without specifically advocating for an immediate retaliatory response.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated on Sunday that the strikes against Iran had a significant impact and successfully accomplished all objectives. The damage from the strikes was reported in three Iranian provinces. The total number of sites targeted in the Israeli attack has not been fully disclosed. Iran's military has not released any images of the damage thus far. Iranian officials have pinpointed the affected areas as Ilam, Khuzestan, and Tehran provinces. Satellite images from Planet Labs PBC showed burned fields near Iran's Tange Bijar natural gas production site in Ilam province on Saturday.

It remains uncertain whether the damage is linked to the attack. The Ilam province is located along the Iran-Iraq border in the western region of Iran. The significant destruction is evident in Planet Labs photographs of Parchin, situated approximately 40 kilometers (25 miles) southeast of downtown Tehran, close to the Mamalu Dam. In one location, a single structure appeared to have been completely destroyed, with other structures showing signs of damage from the attack. Approximately 20 kilometers (12 miles) outside of downtown Tehran, in Khojir, satellite images revealed damage to at least two structures.

Analysts at organizations such as CNA in Virginia, the Foundation for Defense of Democracies in Washington, and former United Nations weapon inspector David Albright, along with other open-source experts, were the first to identify the damage to the bases. The locations of the two bases align with videos captured by the AP depicting Iranian air defense systems firing in the nearby area on early Saturday.

Spanish Prime Minister is set to inaugurate the Tata-Airbus plant in Gujarat

India's inaugural private sector military aircraft plant will be opened today. Spanish Prime Minister is set to inaugurate the Tata-Airbus plant in Gujarat during his first trip to India. Pedro Sanchez, the Prime Minister of Spain, arrived in Vadodara on Monday to attend the inauguration ceremony of the Final Assembly Line for the C295 medium-lift tactical transport aircraft for the Indian Air Force, alongside Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This facility in Vadodara represents India's inaugural private production plant for military transport aircraft, a joint venture between Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) and Airbus Defence and Space (Airbus DS).

A 2.5 km roadshow will lead from the airport to the Tata facility, featuring cultural performances along the way.

Both leaders will visit the iconic Laxmi Vilas Palace, where they will participate in a bilateral meeting arranged by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).

Following lunch at the palace, they will continue on to their individual destinations, as per officials. Sanchez is scheduled to depart for Spain at approximately 12:30 am on Wednesday as per information provided by the MEA. India is set to receive 56 C295 aircraft to modernize the IAF's aging Avro fleet. Airbus is set to deliver the initial 16 aircraft from its Seville-based facility in Spain, with the remaining 40 to be produced by TASL in Vadodara. Recognized for its ability to operate on short or unprepared runways, the C295 has a capacity to transport up to 71 troops or 50 paratroopers, making it well-suited for tactical missions. The Vadodara facility is scheduled to commence production of the first domestically manufactured C295 aircraft in 2026, with the 56th aircraft anticipated to be delivered by 2031.

"Positive start" versus "Serious error": Israeli lawmakers evaluate strike on Iran

Israel's recent strike on Iran has sparked divergent opinions among the political landscape of the nation, with some expressing disapproval of the country's caution while others commending their accurate and limited attacks.

Over the weekend, Israel conducted air raids on multiple military sites in Iran in retaliation to the Iranian missile assault on October 1. The missile manufacturing facilities were targeted in the Israeli attack, resulting in the deaths of two soldiers. Despite the Iranian government's claim of minimal damage, US President Biden supported Israel's right to self-defense. While Biden was reportedly involved in showing restraint in the attack, many Israeli politicians were displeased with the extent of the offensive. Following the attack, opposition leader Yair Lapid posted on social media, criticizing the decision not to target strategic and economic sites in Iran. "We had the opportunity to impose a greater cost on Iran."

He asserted, "Iran leads the axis of evil and should face severe consequences for its hostile actions."

Tally Gotliv, a Likud party member under Prime Minister Netanyahu, denounced the government for not causing more significant harm in accordance with US directives. She emphasized the importance of taking action against Iran's nuclear facilities, stating that failing to do so will result in regretful repercussions for future generations. Failing to target Iran's oil reserves would be a significant error. Regrettably, this submission to the Biden administration neglects Israel's interests. On the contrary, Netanyahu's decision garnered support from various unexpected sources. Israel's Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben Gvir, previously critical of Israel's restrained response to Iran's April strike, expressed on X that the recent attack marked a positive start in targeting Iran's strategic assets for the next phase. Opposition leader Yair Golan, leader of the Israeli Labor Party, also commended the Israeli offensive for weakening Iran's defensive and offensive capabilities without escalating into a prolonged conflict. While there is ongoing debate about US involvement in the attack, Prime Minister Netanyahu's office refuted claims that US pressure influenced the decision to target Iran's oil reserves. The statement clarified that Israel selected the targets based on its national interests rather than following American directives.

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei -Iran retains the right to retaliate against Israel's aggression

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei stated that Iran retains the right to retaliate against Israel's aggression. He emphasized that the severity of Israel's attack on Iran should be neither overstated nor minimized.

He stated that it is necessary to intervene and prevent the "miscalculations of the Israeli government." The recent actions of the Israeli government should be neither exaggerated nor minimized. The errors made by the Israeli government must be corrected promptly.

"It is crucial to communicate the strength, determination, and proactive nature of the Iranian population and its youth," he stated. Iran maintains the right to retaliate in response to Israel's aggressive actions.

"It is the responsibility of the government to decide on the most effective way to demonstrate the power and resolve of the Iranian people to the Israeli government, while also taking measures that benefit the nation and its citizens," he emphasized. Iran downplayed the impact of Israel's recent air strike on Iranian military sites, stating that the damage was minimal.

The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, discussed the issue of 'digital arrest' fraud in Maan Ki Baat

The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, discussed the issue of 'digital arrest' fraud, emphasizing the atmosphere of fear it generates. He cautioned the public against falling victim to these fraudulent schemes during his address in the 115th episode of 'Mann Ki Baat'. Modi highlighted the deceptive tactics used by scammers who impersonate government officials such as police, CBI, RBI, or narcotics authorities in an attempt to extort money from unsuspecting individuals. I was requested to address this topic on Mann Ki Baat by various individuals. It is imperative that you comprehend this requirement in the English language. The initial step involves providing your personal information. They gather all of your personal data. The second step involves creating an environment of apprehension. The fear they instill will impair your ability to reason. Step 3: Time constraints...Individuals subject to digital apprehension come from various demographics and age groups. Numerous individuals have suffered significant financial losses, totaling in the thousands. Should you receive a call of this nature, there is no need to feel alarmed. "Please be aware that no law enforcement agency conducts interrogations via phone or video call," stated PM Modi during the radio show. He urged the public to document any such communication. "Digital security involves three key steps- pause, consider, and respond." Please provide all responses in the English language. If feasible, please capture a screenshot and conduct the recording. According to ANI, he stated that no government agencies issue threats or request money over the phone. Modi instructed individuals to dial 1930 in order to access the national cyber helpline. He stated that such incidents should be promptly reported to law enforcement.

Digital scams have recently become a widespread issue in India.

SP Oswal, the chairman of Vardhman Group, fell victim to cyber fraud last month when criminals impersonating CBI officials coerced him into transferring ₹7 crore to their accounts under the guise of "digital custody". He was placed under digital surveillance for two days using Skype as a subject in a money-laundering investigation.
