The previous AAP-led government in Delhi had prevented the release of the CAG reports. 

On the second day of a three-day assembly session, the Bharatiya Janata Party government in Delhi plans to present 14 Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) reports related to the earlier Aam Aadmi Party administration on Tuesday. 

The reports, which the AAP had “blocked,” consist of important evaluations and audits of different government programs and initiatives, as reported by ANI. 

Sources close to the situation revealed that some of the reports include: 

(1.) Audit Report on State Finances (for the year ending March 2021) 

(2.) Revenue, Economic, Social, General Sectors, and PSUs (for the years ending March 31, 2020, and 2021) 

(3.) Performance Audit on Mitigation and Prevention of Air Pollution from Vehicles (for the year ending March 31, 2021) 

(4.) Performance Audit on Care and Protection of Children in Need (for the year ending March 31, 2021) 

(5.) Audit Report on State Finances (for the year ending March 2022) 

(6.) Performance Audit on Supply of Alcohol 

(7.) Audit Report on State Finances (for the year ending March 2023) 

(8.) Performance Audit on Management of Health Services and Public Health Infrastructure 

(9.) Audit Report on the Operations of Delhi Transport Corporation 

(10.) Performance Audit Report by the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (for the year ending March 31, 2022) 

Among the 14 CAG reports due to be presented, four are finance accounts and appropriation accounts compiled by the Controller of Accounts of the Delhi government for the fiscal years 2021-22 and 2022-23. 

Last December, Delhi’s lieutenant governor Vinai Kumar Saxena criticized then-chief minister Atishi, now the Leader of Opposition (LoP), for failing to present the reports in the House, prompting him to request a special session on December 19-20.

Macron Cuts Off Trump Following Statement on Ukraine Support

At a shared press conference, Emmanuel Macron intervened while Donald Trump was stating that Europe was only lending Ukraine funds and would subsequently reclaim them.

On Monday, the French President Emmanuel Macron corrected his American counterpart Donald Trump regarding assistance for Ukraine as they convened at the White House to mark three years since Russia initiated its invasion.

Macron interjected during a joint press briefing when Trump asserted that Europe was just providing loans to Ukraine and would be reimbursed.

"No, that's not accurate. Honestly, we have contributed. We covered 60 percent of the overall effort," Macron remarked while placing his hand on Trump's arm to halt him mid-statement.

"It was — similar to the US — a mix of loans, guarantees, grants, and we provided actual funds, to clarify," he continued.

Once Macron completed his point, Trump chuckled and responded, "If that’s what you think, that’s fine by me." Macron, who was the first European leader to engage with Trump since his return to power last month, cautioned that peace should not equate to Ukraine's "surrender," mentioning that conversations with the US President had paved a way forward despite concerns over a possible division across the Atlantic.

He added that Trump had "valid reasons" to reconnect with Russian President Vladimir Putin, but emphasized the importance of the US providing "support" for any European-led peacekeeping initiatives.

"After my discussions with President Trump, I am confident that a path forward exists," he stated.

Trump, who refrained from labeling Putin as a dictator, expressed optimism about resolving the Russia-Ukraine conflict and anticipated a visit from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to the White House in the upcoming fortnight.

"I believe we could resolve it in a matter of weeks — if we act wisely. If we fail to be wise, it will linger," he remarked earlier during their meeting in the Oval Office.

Their encounter occurred shortly after Trump announced his willingness to reopen diplomatic channels with Russia and negotiate an end to the Ukraine conflict without involving Kyiv.

Additionally, the US showed support for Russia on two occasions at the United Nations on the same day.

Donald Trump stated that the president of Ukraine recognized that finalizing an agreement with the United States was essential.

On Saturday, US President Donald Trump mentioned that he was attempting to retrieve funds for the billions allocated to aid Ukraine's conflict against Russia.

These remarks were made while Washington and Kyiv were engaged in discussions regarding a mineral resources arrangement that Trump desires in return for the wartime support provided to Ukraine by his predecessor, Joe Biden.

This development represents the latest unexpected change during the tumultuous first month of his presidency, during which he has altered US foreign policy with moves to engage diplomatically with the Kremlin, bypassing both Ukraine and Europe.

Trump addressed attendees at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) near Washington, saying: "I am working on getting the money back or securing it. I want them to provide us something in return for all the funds we have provided. We are requesting rare earth materials and oil, anything we can obtain. 

"We will reclaim our funds because it is simply unfair. We will see, but I believe we are quite close to reaching an agreement, and we need to be close because it has been an awful situation."

Earlier in the day, a source informed AFP that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was "not prepared" to endorse such an agreement, despite increasing pressure from the US.

Verbal Conflict

Trump’s special envoy Keith Kellogg, who met with Zelensky this week, indicated that the Ukrainian leader realized that signing a deal with the United States was "vital."

However, the Ukrainian source stated to AFP that Kyiv required guarantees beforehand.

"In its current form, the president is not willing to accept the draft; we are still working on modifications and looking to add constructive elements," said the source familiar with the situation.

Ukraine desires that any arrangement established with the United States includes security guarantees as it continues to confront Russia's nearly three-year invasion.

The discussions between the two nations are unfolding amidst an escalating verbal exchange between Trump and Zelensky, causing concern in Kyiv and Europe.

On Wednesday, Trump labeled his Ukrainian counterpart a "dictator" and urged him to "act quickly" to bring an end to the conflict, following talks between Russian and US officials in Saudi Arabia that excluded Kyiv.

Washington has suggested a United Nations resolution regarding the Ukraine situation that did not reference any of the territories occupied by Russia, according to diplomatic sources relayed to AFP.

In the past few years, Indian military forces have allocated over Rs 3,000 crore (around $350 million) towards acquiring close to 2,500 military drones. The Indian drone sector is projected to grow to a multi-billion dollar industry in the coming decade, with estimates ranging from USD 4 billion to USD 40 billion.

The Indian government has been actively encouraging domestic drone production through programs like the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) initiative and updated regulations such as the Drone Rules, 2021.

A significant aspect of the Union Budget for 2025-26 was the Rs 57 crore ($6.5 million) funding for the PLI scheme aimed at enhancing drone and drone component manufacturing.
