Defense Minister Yoav Gallant disclosed today a communication from a high-ranking Hamas officer to the organization's leaders Yahya and Mohammed Sinwar, detailing significant casualties within their ranks. The letter, written by Rafa Salama, the deceased leader of the Khan Yunis Brigade who was killed in an Israeli air strike in July, stated that 70% of Hamas' arsenal and 95% of its rockets had been eradicated. 

He also revealed that half of the group's operatives had been killed or wounded, with many others fleeing, resulting in the group being left with only 20% of its original strength. "Our members, who are either physically or mentally incapacitated, are no longer able to support us." Seeking guidance from Allah is our earnest prayer. 

Your brother, Abu Mohammed, Salama, wrote, appealing for assistance from the Sinwar brothers. Gallant highlighted the susceptibility of Hamas' leadership, stating, "We will also target them." Salama, the Khan Younis Brigade leader and a trusted associate of Hamas military commander Mohammed Deif, was in charge of plotting and carrying out various operations, such as the abduction and captivity of IDF soldier Gilad Shalit in 2006.

He was responsible for coordinating the 2005 suicide bombing at Orkhan outpost, along with other attacks originating from Khan Younis. Salama, along with Deif, was killed in an Israeli airstrike in July near the Mawasi displaced persons complex in Khan Younis. He was the third Hamas brigade commander to be eliminated since the commencement of the conflict.

The government is not feeling compelled to introduce the "one nation, one poll" (ONOP) as legislation during the upcoming winter session, according to sources. Union Ministers Rajnath Singh, Arjun Ram Meghwal, and Kiren Rijiju have been tasked with engaging in discussions with opposition parties regarding ONOP. This incident marked the second coordinated attack involving booby-trapped devices targeting the militant group within two days. Lebanese and Hezbollah officials confirmed the details of the explosions.

The death toll as a result of the two attacks has now risen to at least 32 individuals, including several confirmed Hezbollah members. Approximately 3,000 individuals have been reported injured in the recent attacks that occurred since Tuesday afternoon. The explosions of numerous pagers owned by Hezbollah members resulted in 12 fatalities and left thousands with severe injuries. This event dealt a significant blow to Hezbollah, a Lebanese-based militant organization supported by Iran, and have plunged Lebanon into chaos. 

Hezbollah, along with authorities from the United States and other nations briefed on the situation, attributed the Tuesday blasts to Israel. The explosions followed months of ongoing cross-border conflicts between the two parties, heightening concerns of a potential large-scale war between Israel and Hezbollah. The group has launched numerous missiles and drones at Israeli areas since October in support of Hamas in Gaza. The Israeli military did not provide a response upon request regarding the recent explosions on both Tuesday and Wednesday. Attendees at the funeral of 9-year-old Fatima Abdullah in the village of Saraain were advised to power off their mobile phones by removing the batteries. The group chanted "They killed our child Fatima" while moving through the cemetery. 

Covert actions: Israel has conducted a number of covert assaults on Iran and its supporters in a prolonged covert conflict. Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant announced a "new phase" in the conflict with Hezbollah after explosions across Lebanon. Gallant stated that Israel is shifting northward by reallocating resources, energy, and forces at a military airbase in northern Israel on Wednesday. Gallant emphasized the need for boldness, determination, and perseverance in this new phase of the conflict. He stated that the objective is "to safely repatriate residents of the northern communities to their homes." 

The statement was made following the Security Cabinet's decision, led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, to broaden the goals of the conflict. The aim is to facilitate the return of displaced Israelis to border regions impacted by skirmishes with Hezbollah. 

Gallant commended the advancements made by the military, refraining from addressing Israel's purported involvement in recent Lebanon-based assaults. "The IDF, in collaboration with the Shin Bet, Mossad, and other relevant agencies, is producing successful outcomes," he stated. 

Lebanese authorities disclosed that in a span of two days, numerous pagers and handheld radios detonated, resulting in the deaths of at least 21 individuals, including children, and causing injuries to over 3,000 others. Israel has not taken responsibility for these events.
