A bombing struck the southern neighborhoods of Beirut on Thursday, soon after Israel issued a warning to clear out portions of the Hezbollah stronghold area. 


Footage from AFPTV displayed a cloud of gray smoke hanging over the region following the recent attack, a step up in Israel's efforts against the Hezbollah group since September. 


Just before the bombing, Israel notified residents to vacate their residences. 


"You are in close proximity to Hezbollah sites and assets that the (Israeli military) will target in the near future," stated army spokesperson Avichay Adraee in a social media message with a map pinpointing structures in the areas of Shouaifat al-Omrousiya and Ghobeiry.
