When Tulsi Gabbard, the new pick of Donald Trump, criticized the Pakistan Army for its actions against Hindus in Bangladesh.
President-elect Donald Trump has chosen former Democratic representative Tulsi Gabbard as the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) in his administration. Tulsi Gabbard, the inaugural Hindu Congresswoman in the US, frequently criticizes the human rights violations targeting Hindus and other minority groups in Pakistan and Bangladesh. Gabbard's mother, hailing from the US mainland, adopted Hinduism and brought up her children in the same faith. Gabbard, whose first name Tulsi is a sacred plant in Hinduism, is a lifelong vegetarian and swore her oath to enter Congress on the Bhagavad Gita.
In 2021, Tulsi Gabbard introduced a resolution in the US Congress for the protection of Hindu minorities in Bangladesh after repeated atrocities. She also criticized the Pakistani Army for their cruelty against the minority group in 1971. Shortly following her election as co-chair of the India Caucus of the House of Representatives in 2017, Tulsi Gabbard discussed Pakistan's ongoing allowance of terrorist operations within its borders, affecting India, Afghanistan, and other countries.
