Social media buzzed on Wednesday (US time) after incumbent President Joe Biden and President-elect Donald Trump met for a traditional post-election reunion in the Oval Office of the White House. Internet users were fixated on the smiling face of the 81-year-old 46th President of the United States. Many people noted that Biden appeared very happy, which was a change from his usual demeanor. The image of the oldest president of the US smiling alongside his political rival has sparked conspiracy theories among a large portion of internet users. Conspiracy theorists once again revisited the idea that the Democratic leader may have supported Trump during the election, after supposedly losing his own reelection bid to Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Barack Obama.

Donald Trump and Joe Biden maintained a cordial tone during their historic meeting at the White House. Although the truth behind these claims remains uncertain, the 47th American president clarified what he and Biden actually discussed. In a phone interview with the New York Post, the Republican leader essentially confirmed that he and Biden maintained their professional relationship despite their political differences stemming from the Democratic vs Republican divide.
