New Counterterrorism Policy Coming Soon’: Amit Shah Discusses Anti-Terror Efforts

Amit Shah announced during an anti-terror conference that the Centre is preparing to unveil a new counterterrorism policy. The Union home minister revealed that the central government will be introducing a fresh strategy to combat national security threats, terrorists, and their network. Speaking at the anti-terrorism conference in New Delhi, Shah emphasized the Modi government's dedication to establishing a robust anti-terrorism environment and eradicating it. Amit Shah emphasised the importance of coordination among security agencies to combat terrorism effectively. He highlighted that terrorism transcends geographical and constitutional boundaries. Therefore, both central and state security agencies should collaborate closely, develop joint strategies, and share intelligence.

The Centre has proposed the establishment of a model Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and Special Task Force (STF) for all states and Union Territories. These units will serve as a unified platform to address the threat of terrorism, as stated by the Home Minister. Collaboration is essential in combating terrorism, terrorists, and their network. "And that is why, we will soon introduce a new national counter-terrorism policy and strategy in which you all will play a key role," Amit Shah stated.
