Israel has eliminated 200 Hezbollah militants and destroyed 140 rocket launchers in a recent series of airstrikes

At least 1,200 people were killed, and 252 Israelis and foreigners         were taken hostage in Hamas's attacks on Israel.

Israel has eliminated 200 Hezbollah militants and destroyed 140 rocket launchers in a recent series of airstrikes. The Israel Defense Forces reported that these actions were necessary to address an immediate threat to Israeli civilians and soldiers in southern Lebanon. One of the targeted launchers had been used to launch rockets into Western Galilee and central Israel earlier in the week. Among those killed in the strikes were key Hezbollah operatives, including leaders within the organization.

The IDF emphasized that these operations were aimed at weakening Hezbollah's ability to carry out terrorist attacks from southern Lebanon against Israel. In the meantime, Lebanese media outlets have informed about recent air attacks on the Dahieh area of Beirut. Dahieh is a stronghold for Shi'ites in the southern part of Lebanon's capital city. The IDF reported on Wednesday that it had destroyed most of the Iran-backed terror group's weapons storage and production facilities located beneath the neighborhood.

"Over the last two decades, the Hezbollah terrorist group has set up many weapons production sites and storage facilities in the Dahieh district, which is the group's main governing area." These sites, hidden under civilian buildings, have manufactured and stockpiled numerous missiles and rockets with the purpose of causing major damage to the State of Israel," the army stated.

Following the October 7, 2023 attacks by Hamas, Hezbollah commenced firing rockets and deploying drones towards communities in northern Israel on a daily basis. Over 68,000 people in northern Israel have been forced to leave their houses. Hezbollah leaders have stated multiple times that they will persist with their attacks to stop Israelis from going back to their residences.

A minimum of 1,200 individuals lost their lives, and 252 Israelis as well as foreigners were held captive during Hamas's assaults on Israeli settlements close to the Gaza boundary on October 7.

Out of the 97 hostages still in captivity, over 30 have been confirmed deceased. Hamas has detained two Israeli civilians since 2014 and 2015, along with the remains of two soldiers from 2014.
