Enforcement Directorate (ED) raids 16 locations of Amazon and Flipkart vendors as part of FEMA probe. The Enforcement Directorate carried out searches on Thursday on certain vendors operating on popular e-commerce platforms such as Amazon and Flipkart as part of a FEMA probe, according to official sources. The primary agency raided around 15 to 16 locations owned by these sellers, as per sources.
Antitrust investigations carried out by the Competition Commission of India have revealed that Amazon and Flipkart breached local competition regulations by favoring specific sellers, giving priority to certain listings, and offering steep discounts on products, causing harm to other businesses, officials informed.
Sources informed PTI that the crackdown is linked to the financial transactions conducted by some of the "preferred" vendors and sellers operating on Amazon and Flipkart platforms as e-commerce sites.
