Several schools in Delhi face bomb threats, students are sent home

According to police, the two educational institutions are located in RK Puram and Paschim Vihar, and it has been noted that fire services have also been alerted regarding the threat.

On Monday, numerous schools in the national capital were the targets of bomb threats sent through email, as reported by Delhi Police.

Among these institutions were Mother Mary’s School, British School, Salwan Public School, Delhi Public School, and Cambridge School.

The sequence of threats initially started with Delhi Public School in RK Puram and GD Goenka School in Paschim Vihar. Police indicated that DPS received the threat at 7:06 am, whereas GD Goenka was informed of the email at 6:15 am.

In response, school administrators took immediate action to send students home.

Authorities, including police, fire service personnel, canine units, bomb detection specialists, and local officers, arrived on-site to carry out search operations within the school grounds.

A police representative reported that nothing deemed suspicious has been uncovered at either DPS or GD Goenka thus far.

This event follows closely on the heels of a bomb threat that was emailed to Venkateshwar Global School in Rohini just a week ago, which was later determined to be a false alarm.

Armed individuals transport Syrian PM to hotel following the downfall of Bashar al-Assad; US concerned over ISIS revival

The Syrian administration crumbled early Sunday, succumbing to a rapid rebel assault that captured the capital, Damascus.

Shortly after the Syrian insurgents toppled the regime of Bashar al-Assad, a claimed video emerged showing armed individuals guiding Prime Minister Mohammad Ghazi al-Jalali from his office to the Four Seasons hotel. The location of Assad remains unclear; however, various reports indicate he may have taken flight to escape the nation.

The Syrian administration crumbled early Sunday, succumbing to a rapid rebel assault that captured the capital, Damascus. With this unforeseen change in Assad's fortunes, the civil conflict in Syria—which devastated the national economy and compelled millions to seek asylum in the West and neighboring nations—will probably reach its conclusion.

US to continue presence in Syria

The United States announced its intent to sustain its presence in eastern Syria and implement steps to hinder the revival of the Islamic State, as stated by Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for the Middle East, Daniel Shapiro, on Sunday.

"We recognize that the tumultuous and shifting conditions on the ground in Syria could allow ISIS the opportunity to activate, strategize external operations, and we are resolute in collaborating with our partners to persist in diminishing their capabilities," he remarked at the Manama Dialogue security conference in Bahrain’s capital.

Assad Regime Collapses, Insurgents Proclaim "New Era" In Syria: 5 Major Developments

The administration led by Bashar al-Assad has undeniably collapsed in Syria. This Sunni-dominant nation, shaken by an intense insurrection against a Shia leader, now anticipates a fresh beginning after five decades.

The command of the Syrian military has notified its troops that the Assad regime has fallen following the insurgents' declaration that President Assad has escaped the country. "We proclaim the city of Damascus liberated," they announced on Telegram as they marched into the capital this morning.

The insurgents also proclaimed the commencement of a "new era" for Syria. "After 50 years of subjugation under Baathist governance, along with 13 years of atrocities and despotism and (forced) deportation, we declare today the conclusion of this grim time and the initiation of a new era for Syria," they stated. The Syrian insurgents have urged citizens currently abroad to return to a "liberated Syria."

This morning, they stormed Sednaya prison—infamous for its severe abuses under the Assad regime—and released the inmates. Syrian Prime Minister Mohammed al-Jalali has pledged to collaborate with any leadership that the populace selects. Expressing his readiness for any transition procedure, he stated in a Facebook live session, "We stand ready to assist and provide all necessary support."

The head of the rebel forces has affirmed that government institutions will continue to operate under the Prime Minister until the transfer process is completed. Abu Mohammed al-Jolani, who leads the rebel faction Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, has instructed the "military forces" in Damascus to refrain from approaching government establishments.

Elon Musk A Surprise Attendee At Notre Dame Cathedral Reopening In Paris

Elon Musk A Surprise Attendee At Notre Dame Cathedral Reopening In Paris

Musk has adopted a prominent and highly noticeable position alongside Trump since the Republican secured re-election in the United States on November 5. Elon Musk, the wealthiest individual globally and one of Donald Trump's most trusted associates, made an unexpected visit on Saturday at the event commemorating the reopening of Notre Dame cathedral in Paris.

The chief executive of Tesla, SpaceX, and the social media platform X arrived in the afternoon at Le Bourget airport, located to the north of Paris, which is commonly utilized by private jets, as stated by an airport source who requested anonymity.

Musk was later present for the ceremony inside the cathedral on Saturday evening to celebrate its reopening after the devastating fire in 2019. His participation had not been previously disclosed.

He captured a photograph of the cathedral's grand doors before entering and also engaged in conversation within the cathedral with Trump, who occupied a seat in the front row. Musk has adopted a prominent and highly noticeable position alongside Trump since the Republican secured re-election in the United States on November 5.

He contributed at least $270 million to fund Trump's campaign and relocated to the president-elect’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida following election day while the new White House team was being organized.

The two have attended an Ultimate Fighting Championship event in New York, along with witnessing the launch of one of Musk’s SpaceX rockets.

Trump has appointed the South African-born businessman and fellow supporter Vivek Ramaswamy to head the so-called "Department of Government Efficiency," a committee expected to propose methods for reducing federal expenditures by billions of dollars.

Considering that Musk's enterprises are subject to regulations and secure contracts from the US government, his involvement has sparked concerns regarding potential conflicts of interest.

Trump accepted the invitation from French President Emmanuel Macron to participate in the reopening of Notre Dame cathedral, occurring over five years after it was severely damaged by a fire.

He engaged with Macron at the Elysee Palace in Paris on Saturday, revitalizing a relationship that often experienced strain during Trump's initial term in office.

The president-elect has proposed several individuals close to Musk for positions in his upcoming administration, including investor David Sacks as the so-called "AI and crypto czar."
