Several schools in Delhi face bomb threats, students are sent home
According to police, the two educational institutions are located in RK Puram and Paschim Vihar, and it has been noted that fire services have also been alerted regarding the threat.
On Monday, numerous schools in the national capital were the targets of bomb threats sent through email, as reported by Delhi Police.
Among these institutions were Mother Mary’s School, British School, Salwan Public School, Delhi Public School, and Cambridge School.
The sequence of threats initially started with Delhi Public School in RK Puram and GD Goenka School in Paschim Vihar. Police indicated that DPS received the threat at 7:06 am, whereas GD Goenka was informed of the email at 6:15 am.
In response, school administrators took immediate action to send students home.
Authorities, including police, fire service personnel, canine units, bomb detection specialists, and local officers, arrived on-site to carry out search operations within the school grounds.
A police representative reported that nothing deemed suspicious has been uncovered at either DPS or GD Goenka thus far.
This event follows closely on the heels of a bomb threat that was emailed to Venkateshwar Global School in Rohini just a week ago, which was later determined to be a false alarm.
