5 Terrorists Eliminated In Confrontation With Security Forces In J&K's Kulgam
On Thursday, five terrorists were neutralized in a confrontation in Kulgam district located in South Kashmir. The operation commenced after security forces initiated a search mission in the Kadder region upon receiving intelligence indicating the existence of terrorists in that area.
As the terrorists opened fire on the security personnel, a confrontation began.
“OP KADER, Kulgam. Following specific intelligence concerning the presence of terrorists, a joint operation was initiated by the Indian Army and J-K police in Kader, Kulgam. Alert soldiers observed suspicious movements and upon being challenged, the terrorists unleashed indiscriminate and substantial gunfire. Our troops effectively responded. The operation is ongoing,” reported the Indian Army's Chinar Corps in a message on X.
Earlier this month, a terrorist implicated in the killings of civilians in Gagangir, Ganderbal, along with various other terror incidents in Jammu and Kashmir, was killed during an encounter in Srinagar district. National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah, whose son Omar Abdullah recently assumed the role of Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, expressed that the increase in terror incidents might be aimed at destabilizing the newly established government and demanded an independent investigation.
