As visitors immerse themselves in a ‘white Christmas’ experience in Shimla, Manali, and various other tourist destinations in Himachal, the snowfall has resulted in the closure of more than 200 roads. 

Tourist hotspots like Shimla and Manali in the mountainous region of Himachal Pradesh have transformed into a picturesque white wonderland, as have certain areas of Jammu and Kashmir, where fresh snow has fallen and temperatures have dropped several degrees below zero. This phenomenon has brought joy to tourists visiting these locations for their Christmas vacation, along with challenges for drivers. 

While visitors are enjoying a ‘white Christmas’ in Shimla, Manali, and other popular tourist spots of Himachal Pradesh, the snowfall has caused over 200 roads to close, a rise in hotel reservations, and four fatalities from vehicle skidding incidents. 

Himachal’s Shimla, Manali transformed into a snowy paradise: Shimla, Manali, and numerous other towns in Himachal Pradesh, favored by tourists, have been experiencing snowfall, creating a ‘white Christmas’ on December 25, a much-coveted sight for travelers at this time of year. 

Social media platforms have been inundated with photos of Shimla and Manali elegantly cloaked in snow. The Meteorological department has allegedly forecasted rain and snow in isolated areas throughout parts of the state, especially Shimla, from Friday evening until Sunday afternoon, with the most intense precipitation expected on Saturday.
