BJP ridicule Rahul Gandhi's address in Lok Sabha: ‘Such insight comes from George Soros’

On Friday, leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) derided Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, over several remarks made in the Congress leader's address.

BJP spokesperson and MP Sambit Patra, along with the party's IT department head Amit Malviya, shared snippets of Gandhi's speech on X to deride him.

They criticized Gandhi for asserting that "tapasya" is intended to “generate heat in the body” during his remarks.

Gandhi's mention of Eklavya, an archer from "Mahabharat," referring to him as a child of six or seven years, along with the claim that Dronacharya severed his thumb, were additional highlights from the address that the BJP leaders brought attention to.

Rahul Gandhi's weak critiques of BJP

In a discussion regarding 75 years since the adoption of the Constitution, Gandhi characterized the Constitution as a "document of modern India" and articulated that it could never have existed without the contributions of ancient India and its concepts.

"The Constitution is a document of modern India but it could never have been articulated without ancient India and her concepts," Rahul Gandhi stated.

"Those Who Speak Truth...": Yogi Adityanath Comments on High Court Judge's Statements

On Friday, the Opposition filed a notice in the Rajya Sabha to initiate impeachment proceedings against Allahabad High Court Judge Shekhar Kumar Yadav due to his purportedly controversial comments made on December 8. Uttar Pradesh's Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath criticized the Opposition on Saturday for their move to bring impeachment notices against Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar and Allahabad High Court's Justice Shekhar Kumar Yadav, stating that "anyone who speaks the truth" faces threats as a result.

While addressing the World Hindu Economic Forum 2024, he further accused the Congress party of exhibiting hypocritical behavior.

"Those who speak the truth will be pressured by these individuals through impeachment (motions), yet they continue to claim to uphold the Constitution. Witness their hypocritical stance. An Allahabad High Court judge mentioned the need for a Uniform Civil Code, and globally, the sentiments of the majority community are honored," Adityanath remarked.

He posed a question: what offense has a person committed if they express such views?

"Isn’t it necessary to have a Uniform Civil Code in our nation? All over the world, systems operate based on the majority community’s viewpoint, and India asserts that discrimination between the majority and minority communities must cease. They (the Congress) will exert pressure, as it has long been their tendency to suffocate the Constitution and manipulate the country’s governance," Adityanath claimed.

Regarding the impeachment notice against Dhankhar for his supposed biased behavior as Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, the BJP figure stated that the Vice President is fulfilling his responsibilities as the presiding officer of the Upper House.

"The Opposition is anxious about how a farmer's child has attained this position. If someone, in the capacity of a judge and as a citizen of the nation, articulates the truth on a social and cultural platform, they are threatened with impeachment," Adityanath added.

Members from various opposition parties on Friday submitted a notice in the Rajya Sabha for the impeachment of Allahabad High Court Judge Shekhar Kumar Yadav over his allegedly contentious remarks at a Vishwa Hindu Parishad event held on December 8.

The Supreme Court has requested additional information related to the controversy from the Allahabad High Court.

In the meantime, Adityanath emphasized that society and the nation must reveal those who wish to stifle the truth. He asserted that individuals who disregard India’s heritage should be exposed, alleging that the Opposition claims that Lord Ram never existed.

Adityanath asserted that the Sanatan religion has never claimed superiority or demanded that it be recognized as supreme. He emphasized that it has neither coerced anyone with violence nor laid claim to anyone’s land.

"You have PM Modi bestowing honor on the workers who constructed the Ram Temple in Ayodhya for their efforts, while there have also been rulers who severed the hands of the laborers who built the Taj Mahal," he remarked.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi speaks in the Lok Sabha during the discussion on the 'glorious journey of 75 years of the India Constitution

Modi Critiques Congress for Dismantling the Constitution Over 7 Decades

Once again, PM Modi pointed out the Congress figures from Nehru to Rahul for their disregard toward the Constitution, referencing the Emergency era and blatant political opportunism, while contrasting the amendments made by the BJP government as advantageous for the nation. On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared that the Congress has consistently disrespected the Constitution, with five generations of its leaders attempting to belittle and weaken the esteemed document for political expediency and appeasement politics, severely criticizing the primary opposition party for what he termed the irreversible offense of enforcing the Emergency and eroding constitutional liberties. As he concluded a two-day special discourse in the Lok Sabha celebrating 75 years of the Constitution, Modi also differentiated the constitutional alterations initiated by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from those of the Congress, asserting that the opposition party has a historical opposition to reservations, lauding the accomplishments of his administration, emphasizing that his welfare initiatives are directed by the Constitution, and articulating 11 commitments to transform India into a developed nation by 2047, coinciding with the hundredth anniversary of Independence.

During an extensive address in Hindi lasting 110 minutes, the PM frequently targeted the Congress and the Gandhi lineage, criticizing it for the most significant “jumla”, or untrue promise, of “Garibi Hatao” (eliminate poverty)—a campaign slogan that played a significant role in Indira Gandhi’s overwhelming success in the 1971 elections. He further stated that his government has continually endeavored to fortify the unity and integrity of the country—an essential issue that motivated the authors of the Constitution.

Donald Trump proposes that authorities possess greater knowledge regarding drone sightings

Donald Trump proposes that authorities possess greater knowledge regarding drone sightings than they are disclosing, 'Let the public be informed'

Donald Trump additionally stated a demand for the enigmatic aerial objects to be brought down.

On Friday, December 13, Donald Trump asserted that governmental representatives are privy to more information concerning the peculiar drone sightings occurring in the Northeast than they are letting on. He further indicated that, should they be unaware, the unidentified flying entities ought to be eliminated.

“Mysterious drone encounters are occurring across the nation. Is it truly possible that this is happening without our government's awareness? I doubt it! Inform the public, and do so immediately. If not, shoot them down!!! DJT,” Trump posted on Truth Social.

Drone sightings raise alarms

The instances of drone sightings have sparked alarm among legislators, with numerous officials expressing concern about potential threats posed by foes like Iran on American territory. Nevertheless, the Pentagon has refuted allegations that any foreign nation is responsible for the drones. The aerial phenomena were reported near military bases in New Jersey. In addition to Trump, several other Republican lawmakers have urged for the military to take action against the drones, including Representatives Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.), Tim Burchett (R-Tenn.), Chris Smith (R-NJ), and Jeff Van Drew (R-NJ).

Luna, a distinguished veteran of the US Air Force, proposed that if the objects remain unidentified, there should be no justification for not bringing them down. “If an unidentified object breaches our airspace, a shoot-down command should be automatically issued — without any questions,” the congresswoman stated on social media.

Instrument of Airbrush on military's moment of pride: Mythical portrait replaces 1971 picture

Instrument of Airbrush on military's moment of pride: Mythical portrait replaces 1971 picture

For fifty years, the most striking emblem of India’s most significant military triumph was a snapshot of the Pakistani army affirming the Instrument of Surrender in Dhaka on December 16, 1971.

It has recently been revealed that this image has been taken down from the office of the army chief, where it had proudly resided for many years, often serving as the backdrop against which visiting generals and foreign dignitaries posed for photographs.

The new addition is an artwork—“inspired by the teachings of the Mahabharata,” as per defense sources—that depicts tanks and helicopters situated along the banks of what resembles Pangong Lake in Ladakh, overseen by a warrior in a chariot, a sage dressed in saffron, and a bird.

A senior official from the defense ministry communicated via WhatsApp to this publication, justifying the decision by asserting that the new semi-mythical artwork highlighted the technological advancements of the Indian military and its “everlasting dedication to righteousness.”

“The painting Karam Kshetra — Field of Deeds was created by Lt Col Thomas Jacob of 28 MADRAS. This artwork symbolizes the enduring commitment of the Indian Army to righteousness, based on the teachings of the Mahabharata,” it stated.

“It depicts the Army as a protector of Dharma…. This inspiration draws from the strategic and philosophical insights of Chanakya, whose principles steer the Army’s methods of leadership, diplomacy, and combat.”

Evidently, the painting also “illustrates how the contemporary Indian Army is armed with state-of-the-art systems, ensuring seamless collaboration across land, air, and maritime domains….”

While India’s army may not have possessed “state-of-the-art systems” in 1971, the manner in which it executed the 13-day conflict has become legendary.

Cops Deploy Tear Gas, Employ Water Cannon As Farmers Restart Delhi March

Cops Deploy Tear Gas, Employ Water Cannon As Farmers Restart Delhi March

At least 10 farmers sustained injuries when law enforcement utilized tear gas and water cannons to break up their assembly at the Haryana-Punjab border today. A contingent of 101 farmers recommenced their 'Delhi chalo' foot procession at noon, urging the government to fulfill their requests, which include a legal assurance for the Minimum Support Price (MSP).

Congress figure and wrestler, Bajrang Punia, allied with the farmers at the Shambhu border. "On one side, the government claims it is not obstructing the farmers, yet on the other side, they are deploying tear gas and other such measures. It feels like it is the border with Pakistan. When leaders go to Delhi for protests, do they ask for permission?" he stated.

This marks the third effort by the protesting farmers to advance towards the national capital since December 6. Previously, they were denied passage by law enforcement in Haryana on December 6 and December 8. Prior to their intended march today, the Haryana administration halted mobile internet access and bulk SMS services in 12 villages of Ambala until December 17 to curb the spread of false information. The order affects the following villages - Dangdehri, Lehgarh, Manakpur, Dadiyana, Bari Ghel, Choti Ghel, Lharsa, Kalu Majra, Devi Nagar (Hira Nagar, Naresh Vihar), Saddopur, Sultanpur, and Kakru.

In anticipation of the planned march, Haryana's law enforcement set up extensive barricades to obstruct farmers from advancing towards Delhi. The Ambala police had previously stated that the farmers could proceed to Delhi only with permission from the Delhi administration.
