On Sunday, law enforcement utilized water cannons and lathi charges to disperse the protesters who were calling for the annulment of the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) examination conducted on December 13. Earlier in the day, demonstrators had convened at Patna's Gandhi Maidan, where they were joined by Prashant Kishore, the founder of Jan Suraaj. "The demonstrators convened at Gandhi Maidan despite warnings from the administration that any gathering there would be deemed unauthorized. The district police has filed an FIR against 21 identified individuals, including Prashant Kishore, his party leader Manoj Bharti, local tutor Ramanshu Mishra, along with 600 to 700 unidentified persons for orchestrating a student assembly at Gandhi Maidan despite the authorities' refusal of permission,” PTI reported Singh as stating.

Israeli forces apprehend over 240 Palestinians in raid on Gaza hospital

Israeli forces apprehend over 240 Palestinians in raid on Gaza hospital

Israeli forces apprehended in excess of 240 Palestinians, encompassing medical personnel from a Gaza medical facility, asserting it functioned as a Hamas command hub.

Israeli forces apprehended more than 240 Palestinians, comprising several medical personnel from a north Gaza hospital that was raided on Friday, including its head, as reported by both the Health Ministry in the enclave and the military of Israel. The Health Ministry expressed concern for the welfare of Hussam Abu Safiya, who leads the Kamal Adwan Hospital, as some personnel released by the Israeli military late on Friday indicated that he had suffered physical abuse at the hands of soldiers.

The Israeli military asserted that the hospital had been utilized as a command center for Hamas military activities and that the individuals detained were suspected militants. They noted that Abu Safiya was taken for interrogation due to suspicions of him being a Hamas operative. On Friday, Hamas rejected Israel's claim that its fighters had been operating out of the hospital throughout the ongoing 15-month-long Gaza war, insisting that no fighters had been present there. The group had not provided commentary regarding the 240 arrests as of yet.

In a statement issued on Saturday, Hamas appealed to the United Nations and other appropriate international organizations for immediate intervention to safeguard the remaining hospitals and medical establishments in northern Gaza as well as to provide them with necessary supplies.

The organization also called for the deployment of U.N. observers to the medical facilities in Gaza to counter the Israeli claims that these establishments were being utilized for military operations.

Elon Musk Claims H-1B Visa Framework Is Flawed

Elon Musk Claims H-1B Visa Framework IsFlawed, Will Engage In Battle, Assurance

Elon Musk, along with Indian-American technology entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, has recently found himself at odds with Donald Trump supporters regarding immigration matters.

Shortly after pledging to "engage in battle" to uphold H-1B visas, tech magnate Elon Musk declared on Sunday that the current system utilized to attract skilled international workers to the United States is "flawed" and requires "substantial reform". Mr. Musk and Mr. Ramaswamy, both poised to join the incoming Trump administration, have shown their support for the H-1B initiative.

In a post on X, the social media platform he owns, Musk, who migrated from South Africa under an H-1B visa himself, expressed that he has "made it very clear" that the H-1B program is "flawed" and "requires significant reform".

His remarks came in response to a commenter asserting that the US must become a hub for the "world’s most elite talent", but that the H-1B program "isn’t the solution to achieve that". Musk suggested it could be "readily corrected" by substantially increasing the minimum salary and introducing an annual fee for maintaining the H-1B, effectively making it "significantly more costly to recruit from abroad than from within the country".

Just last week, Musk stated that attracting top engineering talent from overseas is "crucial for America to continue succeeding."

Likewise, Ramaswamy, whose parents are Indian immigrants, echoed Musk’s perspective. He contended that American culture has traditionally prioritized "mediocrity over greatness".

"A culture that prizes the prom queen more than the math olympiad champion... will fail to cultivate the leading engineers," he commented on X.

Dispute Regarding H-1B Visas

The H-1B visa discourse was sparked following criticism from right-wing influencer Laura Loomer of Donald Trump’s appointment of Indian-American entrepreneur Sriram Krishnan as an advisor on artificial intelligence policy in his forthcoming administration.

Loomer, along with extreme right figures such as Ann Coulter and former Congressman Matt Gaetz, accused Musk and Ramaswamy of weakening the position of American workers.

A widely shared post on X labeled Krishnan as an "India First" agent whose mission was to "displace American laborers."

"Anticipating the inevitable split between President Trump and Big Tech," Loomer, known for her conspiracy theories and MAGA affiliation, stated.

"It is imperative to safeguard President Trump from the technocrats," she added.

In response to his detractors, Musk retaliated and cautioned of a "MAGA civil conflict."

He also unleashed a curse at one opponent, declaring, "I am prepared to go to war over this matter."

Trump Supports Musk In H-1B Visa Controversy

Donald Trump has expressed his support for Elon Musk in a public confrontation regarding the application of the H-1B visa, asserting his complete endorsement of the program for foreign technology workers, which some of his supporters oppose.

Trump, who sought to restrict the utilization of visas during his initial term as president, informed The New York Post on Saturday that he too supported the visa program.

An X user posted a mockery that compares Sriram Krishnan to butter chicken, which is widely recognized as a dish from Indian culinary traditions. The post included two visuals: one depicting Krishnan and another that was AI-created, substituting his facial characteristics with the well-known dish.

The election of Donald Trump as President and his selection of Sriram Krishnan, who has Indian roots, as the Senior White House Policy Advisor for Artificial Intelligence has ignited extensive discussions. While conversations have focused on Krishnan's contentious opinions regarding immigration and green card limitations, a racist tweet on X (previously known as Twitter) aimed at him has sparked intense condemnation. An X user shared a post ridiculing Krishnan by likening him to butter chicken, a dish that is generally associated with Indian food. The post included two images: one of Krishnan and another AI-generated image that altered his facial features to resemble the beloved dish. The caption stated, “Here is what Sriram Krishnan would look like if he was butter chicken.”

85 Fatalities After Aircraft Carrying 181 Crashes on South Korean Runway

Of the 181 individuals aboard, 175 were passengers while six were part of the flight crew

An aircraft carrying 181 individuals went down at Muan airport in South Korea after it strayed off the runway during landing, resulting in the deaths of at least 85 individuals. According to the Yonhap news agency, the incident was reported in the South Jeolla province when Jeju Air flight 2216 was returning from Thailand.

Authorities managed to rescue two individuals, while efforts to evacuate passengers from the rear section of the Boeing 737-8AS continued.

Of the 181 people on board, there were 175 passengers and six flight crew members. Emergency response teams at the airport initiated their operations around 9 am following the aircraft crashing into a barrier after an unsuccessful belly landing attempt, which led to the plane erupting in flames. Images captured showed black smoke billowing above the site of the crash.

The incident is thought to have resulted from "contact with birds, leading to a malfunction of the landing gear.” Acting President Choi Sang-mok called for the activation of all resources to aid the passengers. "All relevant agencies must deploy every available resource to assist the individuals involved," he directed officials in a statement.

Meanwhile, Jeju Air expressed its 'deepest regrets' concerning the plane crash. "We at Jeju Air will exert every effort in response to this tragic event. We truly regret the distress caused," the airline stated in a message shared across its social media platforms.
