Shortly after, various social media clips captured bright debris from the spacecraft blazing through the twilight skies above southern Florida and the Bahamas. 

The Federal Aviation Administration imposed temporary ground stops at Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Palm Beach, and Orlando airports due to "space launch debris" lasting until at least 8 p.m. ET, per a report from Reuters. The disintegration of Starship in orbit was visible on the SpaceX live stream, which displayed the spacecraft spinning out of control. 

In a subsequent update, SpaceX stated that during the ascent phase, "the vehicle underwent a rapid unscheduled disassembly and communication was lost," and that its team "quickly initiated coordination with safety officials to execute pre-arranged emergency procedures."

Hamas stated that Trump's threats would motivate Israel to disregard the agreement, which had effectively ended over 15 months of conflict in Gaza between the Israeli forces and Palestinian fighters. The military branch of Hamas announced on Thursday its ongoing commitment to the fragile ceasefire with Israel, after Donald Trump warned the residents of Gaza that they would be "DEAD" if hostages held in the area were not released. The initial phase of the six-week ceasefire concluded over the weekend, and discussions regarding the future of the agreement have reached a deadlock.

Hamas indicated that Trump's threats would lead Israel to dismiss the agreement, which had primarily put an end to more than 15 months of warfare in Gaza involving Israeli and Palestinian combatants.

Earlier, Trump had proposed a plan to relocate Palestinians from Gaza, which faced widespread criticism, prompting Arab leaders who convened in Cairo this week to advocate for a different solution.

On Thursday, a U.S. envoy commended Egypt for devising a new proposal but refrained from supporting the specifics of the suggested alternative. Trump's warning came after his administration disclosed that it had engaged in unprecedented direct discussions with Hamas—classified as a "terrorist" organization by the U.S.—concerning American hostages in Gaza.

The office of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that Israel was involved in consultations and stated it had "expressed its views" on these discussions.

"Despite the enemy's numerous attempts at avoidance, falsehoods, and deceit... we chose and continue to choose to uphold the agreement to protect the lives of our people," declared Abu Obaida, spokesperson for the Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas' armed wing, in a video statement.

On Wednesday, Trump delivered what he referred to as a "final warning!" to Hamas leaders, urging the movement to release all hostages "or it is OVER for you."

The US President postponed certain tariffs aimed at Canada and Mexico, prompting the Canadian government to pause planned counteractions. This decision offers some relief for businesses and consumers after a significant market reaction. 

Financial markets dropped sharply when Trump's tariffs, which could reach 25 percent, were implemented on Tuesday, as experts cautioned that widespread tariffs might hinder US economic growth and increase inflation. 

However, on Thursday, Trump decided to delay new tariffs affecting Canadian and Mexican goods under the North American trade pact, though he rejected claims that his actions were a response to the market's downturn. 

This pause, effective until April 2, brings comfort to car manufacturers. 

In the automotive industry, components often pass back and forth across North American borders throughout production processes. 

After discussions with the "Big Three" American car manufacturers—Stellantis, Ford, and General Motors—Washington previously announced a one-month exemption for vehicles under the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA). 

A White House spokesperson informed journalists that approximately 62 percent of Canadian imports will still be subject to the new tariffs, though many of these are energy-related products that will face a reduced tariff rate of 10 percent. 

Approximately fifty percent of imports from Mexico enter through the USMCA. 

Trump stated on Thursday that the latest actions create "much more favorable conditions for our American car manufacturers." 

Following Trump's announcement, Canadian Finance Minister Dominic LeBlanc communicated on X that Canada "will not move forward with the second round of tariffs on $125 billion of US goods until April 2, while we continue negotiations for an end to all tariffs." 

Trump reiterated on Thursday that further tariffs would be introduced on April 2, indicating they would be "reciprocal in nature." He had previously promised reciprocal duties to address what Washington considers unfair trading practices. 

At that time, Canadian and Mexican products may still incur tariffs. 

The US President also declared that he would not alter existing tariffs for steel and aluminum imports, which are scheduled to go into effect next week. 

Despite Trump’s partial delay of tariffs, US stock markets continued to decline on Thursday.

The Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, held a passionate press conference regarding the commencement of a trade dispute with the United States.

On Tuesday, Trudeau asserted that the purpose of President Donald Trump's tariff conflict is to weaken Canada’s economy, facilitating its annexation. Shortly after Trump announced a 10% tariff on Canadian energy imports and 25% on other goods, Canada swiftly retaliated with a 25% tariff on C$30 billion of US imports, such as cosmetics, electronics, tires, fruit, and wine, and promised to target an additional C$125 billion in 21 days if warranted.

Trudeau also responded to Trump’s claims regarding fentanyl trafficking, stating, “The rationale he’s using for these tariffs related to fentanyl is entirely unfounded, wholly unjustified, and completely incorrect. His true intention appears to be the complete downfall of Canada’s economy, which would simplify the process of annexation.”

“Let us not deceive ourselves about his apparent goals. We will never become the 51st state,” Trudeau insisted.

Trudeau referred to the US president informally, saying, “I want to address one particular American, Donald. I don’t usually find myself agreeing with the Wall Street Journal, but Donald, they have pointed out that despite your intelligence, this is a misguided move,” Trudeau continued.
