Elon Musk appears to be embracing his position within the Department of Government Efficiency with utmost seriousness. The tech entrepreneur recently participated in a discussion with Donald Trump's team regarding his intentions for significant budget reductions. The Tesla leader was in Washington to confer with Senate Majority Leader John Thune, yet it was his young son whom he referred to as DOGE Jr. who captured the attention.

Musk, in collaboration with entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, is aiding Trump’s administration in enhancing government operations and eliminating superfluous programs. 

“Our committee eagerly anticipates collaborating with @DOGE to enhance the efficiency, effectiveness, and accountability of the federal government for the American populace,” tweeted the House Oversight Committee on December 6, accompanied by an image featuring X-Æ-12 perched on Musk's shoulders.

An urgent notice from New Delhi has declared that "Individuals able to do so are urged to depart (Syria) via the soonest available commercial flights." For those who lack the means to leave, the notification instructed them to "exercise extreme caution regarding their safety and limit their movements to the bare minimum." 

Due to the escalating crisis in Syria, the Indian Government issued a late-night alert to all Indian citizens advising them to entirely "refrain from all travel to Syria until further notice."

In this announcement, which provided an emergency contact number and an email address, the Ministry of External Affairs encouraged all Indians present in Syria to "keep in communication with the Indian Embassy in Damascus."

The advisory mentioned that updates would be given once the embassy staff is reached.

Syria is currently experiencing significant political instability, with the regime of Bashar Al-Assad, supported by Russia and Iran, finding itself encircled by rebel factions and militia groups backed by Turkey. Over the past week, rebel forces have launched a rapid offensive throughout Syria with the goal of toppling President Bashar Al-Assad. 

According to a war monitor speaking to the AFP news agency, the Islamist-led rebels are now at the gates of Homs in Syria. Numerous other cities within Syria have also been lost to government control - some without even a single shot being fired.

Shiv Sena MLA Bharat Gogavale mentioned that the three Mahayuti partners are engaging in discussions regarding the distribution of portfolios. 

The Shiv Sena, under the leadership of Maharashtra's deputy chief minister Eknath Shinde, reaffirmed on Friday that its leader has requested the essential home portfolio from the BJP, adding that the three Mahayuti affiliates are currently in discussions concerning the allocation of portfolios. 

The Mahayuti consists of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Shiv Sena, and Ajit Pawar's Nationalist Congress Party, which achieved a significant victory in last month’s assembly elections. On Thursday, 12 days post-results, BJP’s Devendra Fadnavis took his oath as chief minister, alongside Eknath Shinde, Pawar, and his deputies. 

“When Fadnavis served as deputy CM (previously in the Shinde-led administration), he was also in charge of the home department. Now, Saheb has requested a similar arrangement, and discussions (regarding portfolio distribution) are underway,” news agency PTI quoted Gogavale as stating. 

The Raigad MLA continued, “The request was likely directed towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi or Union Home Minister Amit Shah. We are optimistic that the discussions regarding portfolios will conclude in the next couple of days.” 

Reportedly, Shinde was “hesitant” to take on the deputy CM role but was persuaded by Sena leaders to accept the position. Nevertheless, he remains firm on claiming the home department, which is accountable to the state police. 

In June 2022, the influential Maratha leader from Thane revolted against the then-chief minister Uddhav Thackeray, who led a united Shiv Sena. This rebellion resulted in a significant division within the party, leading to the fall of the Thackeray-led Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government.

President Yoon Suk Yeol from South Korea expressed his remorse regarding his brief effort to implement martial law, assuring that he would accept any legal consequences that follow. 

On Saturday, President Yoon Suk Yeol conveyed his apology for his fleeting initiative to impose martial law, pledging to adhere to any legal ramifications ahead of an impending parliamentary vote related to his impeachment. 

During a broadcasted address, Yoon Suk Yeol articulated his profound regret over the public anxiety and inconvenience his actions caused, promised to never pursue martial law again, and noted that the decision regarding his political future would lie with his People Power Party (PPP). He also pledged to confront any potential legal or political consequences resulting from his actions. 

Right after his speech, PPP leader Han Dong-hun demanded Yoon’s resignation, arguing that he was no longer suitable for the position. Opposition legislators initiated an impeachment motion, yet it remained uncertain whether they could garner the necessary two-thirds majority to pass it. 

The Opposition possesses 192 out of the National Assembly's 300 seats, requiring at least eight votes from the PPP to achieve success. On Wednesday, 18 members of the PPP voted to revoke martial law, mere hours following Yoon's declaration, as heavily armed soldiers encircled the National Assembly in an effort to hinder the vote.

On Thursday (5 December), the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leveled significant allegations against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, contending that he is collaborating with global entities and investigative journalism organizations purportedly aiming to undermine India.

These assertions emerged during a heated Lok Sabha session that was suspended owing to vigorous demonstrations from both factions. BJP representatives K Laxman and Sambit Patra referred to a report from the French media outlet Mediapart to substantiate their claims.

Patra asserted that figures such as billionaire George Soros, US-based organizations, and the Organised Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP) formed a "dangerous triangle" alongside Gandhi, aiming to stir turmoil in India.

During a press conference, he proclaimed, "I have no hesitation in saying he (Gandhi) is a traitor of the highest order," while accusing the OCCRP, which receives substantial funding from Soros and US agencies, of employing its platform to disseminate reports critical of India that Gandhi subsequently leveraged against the government.

Patra further mentioned the Covaxin controversy, accusing Gandhi of relying on outdated information from an OCCRP report regarding Brazil's cancellation of a $324 million order for Covaxin to defame the government. He connected Gandhi's criticisms of the administration concerning the Pegasus spyware situation to the reports from OCCRP, suggesting a coordinated effort to tarnish India's standing. 

In the National Herald Case, Patra emphasized that the OCCRP labeled the legal actions involving Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi as "politically motivated," implying it is part of a broader anti-India scheme.

Patra charged Gandhi with acting contrary to the nation's interests, stating, "Rahul Gandhi does not want India to progress. He does not want the Indian Parliament to operate."

He also insinuated that Gandhi's actions are strategically timed to align with parliamentary sessions, aiming to disrupt them with "fake" news. BJP MP K. Laxman expressed similar sentiments, asserting that the Congress and its allies are collaborating with anti-India forces to push disruptive agendas.

The Congress has yet to deliver a detailed rebuttal, but prior responses to analogous accusations have dismissed them as mere diversions.

New Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis emphasized his commitment to establishing a stable administration for the upcoming five years. 

After being sworn in for a third term as Maharashtra's chief minister, Devendra Fadnavis spoke to reporters on Thursday evening, expressing his intention to provide a dependable government for the next five years, and assured that the state will experience a political climate characterized by transformation rather than retribution. 

Since 2019, Maharashtra has undergone significant political transitions. The coalition between the Bharatiya Janata Party and Shiv Sena collapsed after the assembly elections, which resulted in the creation of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government, formed by Shiv Sena, NCP, and Congress. In 2022, Eknath Shinde's revolt fractured Shiv Sena, resulting in the downfall of the MVA. Eknath Shinde then allied with the BJP and assumed the role of chief minister. Following the recently held Maharashtra elections, Devendra Fadnavis reclaimed the position of chief minister on December 5. 

"Between 2019 and mid-2022, we experienced numerous changes. We anticipate that there will be no further comparably shocking events in the times ahead," TV cited Devendra Fadnavis as stating. 

"There will be a focus on transformation instead of retribution," he asserted.

On one vertex of this triangle is George Soros from the United States, alongside certain American agencies; on another vertex lies a prominent news portal known as OCCRP... and the final, and most crucial, point of this triangle is Rahul Gandhi, who is a traitor of the highest caliber. I’m not afraid to utter this term...
