AAP leader Anokh Mittal enlisted hitmen to kill his wife; six including his mistress arrested: Ludhiana law enforcement

A day after Anokh Mittal, the Ludhiana leader of the AAP, stated that his wife was killed in a fierce assault by “robbers,” authorities announced on Monday that they had solved the case by apprehending Mittal and his lover who had contracted the murder.

According to the Ludhiana police, they also took into custody four individuals hired as hitmen, while one remains at large.

Kuldeep Singh Chahal, the Commissioner of Ludhiana police, revealed that their investigation uncovered that 35-year-old businessman Anokh Mittal engaged contract killers to assassinate his wife, Lipsi, also referred to as Manvi, in collaboration with his lover, Pratiksha.

Chahal explained that a group of five attackers, recruited by Mittal, ambushed the couple’s vehicle on Dehlon Road, assaulting Manvi with swords and other sharp weapons when they were returning home following a dinner at a restaurant. They escaped, leaving her severely hurt, and also stole Mittal’s Ritz car along with the jewellery the couple was wearing to create the appearance of a robbery.

Chahal further stated that they discovered Mittal had paid the assassins a total of Rs 2.50 lakh, with an initial payment of Rs 50,000 made upfront and the remainder due after the execution of the crime.

The authorities reported that they have detained Anokh Mittal, Pratiksha, and the four assailants identified as Amritpal Singh alias Balli, aged 26, Gurdeep Singh, 25, Sonu, 24, and Sagardeep alias Teji, 30, all residents of Sahnewal. Another suspect, known as Gurpreet Singh alias Gopi, is still on the run.

Additionally, they stated that they seized a Ritz, Swift, and I-20, which were utilized during the crime, along with a sword from the accused individuals. A First Information Report (FIR) has been filed for murder under the applicable sections against all suspects at the Dehlon Police Station.
