The war between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip entered its sixth day on Thursday, with the death toll rising above 2,500. The Israeli military has carried out hundreds of airstrikes on targets in Gaza, while Hamas and other Palestinian militant groups have fired thousands of rockets into Israel.

The conflict began on Saturday, October 7, when Hamas launched a massive rocket attack on Israel. The Israeli military responded with airstrikes on Gaza, and the conflict has escalated since then.


             


The death toll in the war is overwhelmingly Palestinian. According to the Gaza Health Ministry, at least 1,500 Palestinians have been killed, including more than 400 children. At least 10,000 Palestinians have been injured.

The death toll in Israel is also rising. According to the Israeli military, at least 150 Israelis have been killed, including more than 30 children. At least 1,000 Israelis have been injured.



The war has caused a humanitarian crisis in Gaza. The United Nations says that more than 50,000 people have been displaced from their homes. The power grid in Gaza has been damaged, and water and sanitation services are at risk of collapse.

The international community has called for a ceasefire, but so far there is no sign of an end to the conflict.

The war has also sparked protests and unrest in the West Bank and East Jerusalem. Israeli police have clashed with Palestinian protesters, and there have been reports of violence between Israeli settlers and Palestinians.

The United States and other countries have urged both sides to de-escalate the conflict and to find a peaceful solution. However, it is unclear when or how the war will end.
