CNN's Dana Bash tried to blame Netanyahu for Hamas attack
CNN’s Dana Bash tries responsible Netanyahu for Hamas attack: ‘Why won’t you take responsibility?’
As the warfare among Hamas and Israel rages on, CNN’s Dana Bash desires Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to provide an explanation for why he received’t “take personal responsibility” for failing to prevent the savage attack on his state.
On Sunday’s “State of the Union,” Bash told the embattled prime minister, “I realize you’ve been requested this several instances, but I have had more than one people internal Israel attain out to me, knowing that I was going to interview you, and say the only aspect they need to hear from you is that you take personal obligation for failing to save you the October 7th attacks and defensive your humans.”
“I understand you are saying the time for so that it will come after the war,” she endured. “Why received’t you're taking obligation now?”
“I’ve already addressed that in many instances,” Netanyahu answered. “And I said this entire question may be addressed after the battle.”
“Why now not now?” Bash pressed.
“Did humans ask Franklin Roosevelt after Pearl Harbor that question?” he asked. “Did humans ask George Bush after the wonder attack of September eleventh?”
It isn’t the first time the prime minister has invoked Pearl Harbor and Sep 11. As strain established on Netanyahu to claim a ceasefire in Gaza, the prime minister made clear it wasn’t going to take place.
“Just because the United States might not comply with a ceasefire after the bombing of Pearl Harbor, or after the terrorist attacks of 9/11, Israel will now not conform to a cessation of hostilities with Hamas after the awful attacks of Oct. 7,” he instructed the international press in overdue October. “Calls for a ceasefire or calls for Israel to surrender to Hamas, to surrender to terrorists, give up to barbarism, with a view to now not appear.”
“The Bible says that there is a time for peace and a time for struggle. This is a time for war. A battle for a commonplace destiny,” he said.
“I’ve said we’re going to answer these kind of questions, which include me,” Netanyahu told Bash. “I’m going to be asked difficult questions.”
“Right now, I assume what we ought to do is unite the u . S . For one motive, one cause by myself, and this is to achieve victory,” he said. “That’s what I did. We’ve fashioned a harmony authorities. The u . S . A .’s united as we’ve by no means been earlier than. And I think that’s what we need to pursue.”
“What the human beings expect me to do proper now's two things,” he said. “One, acquire this victory and bring the hostages lower back. And, 2d, guarantee that Gaza in no way will become a risk to Israel once more.”
“I’m going to reply all of the questions which can be required, inclusive of the questions of responsibility,” Netanyahu careworn when pressed by means of Bash for a third time.
“There might be time sufficient after the war,” he said. “Let’s attention on victory. That’s my responsibility now.”
On X, reaction to Netanyahu’s “attention” is mixed.
“I get it,” wrote one consumer. “While I desire Bibi would have stood up and said that he became in rate on Oct seventh, I get that any little crack in he solidarity and cognizance of Israel of their mission to ruin Hamas once and for all isn't wholesome for Israelis or Israel’s future.”
“They had been attacked,” referred to another.
“Do better Dana,” entreated a third.
But a few advised that Netanyahu had non-public motives for failing to save you the Hamas attack.
“Bibi wanted a strong Hamas, objected to real elections in Gaza,” said one consumer. “He needs this emergency to stay in strength.”
