There has been little progress in efforts to attain 41 employees trapped inside a collapsed tunnel in Uttarkashi as the operation entered its 2nd week with rescuers on Sunday adopting a 5-pronged approach to evacuate the human beings. The rescuers had been also carving out a music on the mountaintop to reach the top of the tunnel from where they are able to drill a vertical hole to tug the workers out.
One pipe, or “lifeline” as the authorities call them, become being driven through the sixty five-metre-thick wall of particles to offer the trapped people with solid food, officers said, adding that it had already reached a depth of 40 metres. A 2d “lifeline” turned into being driven in vertically from pinnacle of the tunnel.

We had been exploring all alternatives,” Gadkari advised newshounds.
The construction employees had been trapped due to the fact that November 12 when a portion of the 4.Five-km tunnel they were constructing collapsed approximately 200 metres from the Silkyara front within the Uttarakhand district.
