France, which aims to govern itself and gain influence in the world, can cooperate with India to gain more of the world.

In the joint statement issued on May 4, 2022, after the Indian Prime Minister's visit to France, it was stated that "cooperation is built on the solid foundation of deep mutual trust, solid belief in self-government and unwavering commitment to international law."

Prime Minister Modi's next visit will be to Paris as chief guest on Bastille Day on 14 July 2023 and President Emmanuel Macron will next be to Paris as chief guest on Republic Day on 26 January to witness the Review in May 2022 will visit.

Macron had previously visited India in March 2018, within a year of the presidential elections, and expressed his desire for France to be a reliable friend of India.
