Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer on Saturday. PM Modi congratulated Mr Starmer on his recent election victory and his new role as UK Prime Minister. According to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), PM Modi invited PM Starmer to visit India soon.

The newspaper said the two leaders stressed the importance of strengthening bilateral ties and improving cooperation in various fields. The Prime Minister's statement said the two countries acknowledged the positive contribution of the Indian community to the UK's social, economic and political development and agreed to continue to foster close people-to-people ties.
