Over 300 Dead In Israel's Largest Assault On Gaza Since Ceasefire

The recent Israeli assaults on Gaza represent the most significant escalation since the ceasefire with Hamas commenced on January 19.

At a minimum, 342 Palestinians are reported to have died as Israel initiated an extensive offensive on Gaza, breaking the tenuous two-month truce with Hamas.

This unexpected offensive disrupted a time of relative peace during the holy month of Ramadan for Muslims and heightened the likelihood of a complete resurgence of conflict in a 17-month war that has led to extensive devastation in Gaza and resulted in over 48,000 Palestinian deaths.

“From this point forward, Israel will respond to Hamas with increased military force,” stated the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

It further asserted that Hamas “consistently declined to free our hostages and turned down all proposals extended by US presidential envoy, Steve Witkoff, along with the mediators.”

“Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz have directed the IDF to take decisive measures against the Hamas militant group in the Gaza Strip,” the statement read. “Currently, the IDF is targeting Hamas militant sites throughout the Gaza Strip to fulfill the objectives established by the political leadership, including securing the release of all hostages, both living and deceased.”
