Israel and Iran confrontation: On Friday, the Israeli defense forces announced that they launched strikes on multiple sites in Tehran overnight, utilizing over 60 fighter jets as the discord between the two rival nations reached its eighth day.

The Israeli armed forces disclosed that the operation targeted what they termed a facility for the “research and development of Iran’s nuclear armament program.”

“More than 60 fighter jets engaged several military locations in Iran with around 120 weapons,” stated the Israel Defense Forces in a report.

In addition, the Israeli military noted in their announcement that they had "carried out a range of strikes in central Tehran: various military targets were hit, including missile manufacturing locations and the headquarters of the SPND (Organization of Defensive Innovation and Research) involved in studying and advancing Iran's nuclear arms initiative." The Israeli military characterized the SPND headquarters as a site “dedicated to the research and advancement of sophisticated technologies and weaponry that enhance the military strength of the Iranian government.”
