Democrats considering replacing Biden as nominee after disastrous presidential debate

Image
The fallout from US President Joe Biden’s performance in the first presidential debate is such that even allies and supporters have called on him to drop out. While former President Donald Trump basked in his characteristic bluster even though he peddled falsehoods while and avoided answering most of the policy questions, Biden faltered through his sentences, lost his train of thoughts at times, and lacked energy that underscored the long-running questions over his physical capabilities to go through the tumults of the American presidency for four more years. Even before the debate ended, panic had set in among the rank and file of the Democratic Party and reports had started pouring in that the party leaders were willing to go back to the drawing board and fundamentally reshape the presidential contest. Within minutes of the beginning of the debate, as it became clear that the raspy-voiced Biden was not going to ace it, the Democrats who have defended Biden for months began making f

T20 World Cup- India pulled from Jaws of South Africa

Image
The pressure in sports can be insane. This took place on Saturday at Kensington Oval in Georgetown, Barbados. This has been very difficult for South Africa, as it is unclear how far they are from a winning position. As Aiden Markram later said, this left them extremely disappointed. With 30 balls required and 6 wickets still in hand, there is really only one winner at this stage: the batting side. South Africa also failed in this regard. They don't know what hit them. They will try to uncover what went wrong over the next few weeks. India also suffered a lot, but they got through it without any flaws. "We won't stop until the last ball is bowled," Rohit Sharma told his middle-order mate. Jasprit Bumrah is the captain of the aerial service as he has done it twice and scored just four runs in each. In the third over, Ardeep Singh and Hardik Pandya batted with great purpose and determination to create a game-changing moment. Suryakumar Yadav's alertness and speed a

India vs South Africa, T20 World Cup Final, at Barbados

India vs South Africa, T20 World Cup Final 2024: India will be out to end their global title drought while South Africa are seeking to bury their 'chokers' tag at Kensington Oval when the tournament's two unbeaten sides clash in the Twenty20 World Cup final. Their blemish-free campaigns and comprehensive victories in the semi-finals leave no doubt that the 20-team tournament's best two sides have made the final in Bridgetown. A day after South Africa stopped Afghanistan's fairytale run in the first semi in Trinidad, India ended England's title defence in Guyana to make the third consecutive final of a global event across all formats. Skipper Rohit Sharma will hope India, who lost in the finals of the World Test Championship and the 50-overs home World Cup last year, will make it third time lucky. Both Rohit, 37, and stalwart Virat Kohli, 35, are playing what could be their last T20 World Cup, and winning the trophy would be a perfect farewell for them. They se

Israel says it can send Lebanon 'back to Stone Age'

Image
The UN health chief warned that this conflict would be "potentially apocalyptic", saying Israel does not want war in Lebanon but could take its neighbors "back to the Stone Age". Since October 7, when Hezbollah's allies Hamas attacked Israel and turned Gaza into war, Israeli forces and Iranian-backed Hezbollah forces have been exchanging fire every day on the border between the two countries. In recent weeks, concerns have grown that these talks could escalate into an all-out war, as cross-border attacks intensified and Israel announced it had approved plans to attack Lebanon and the new threat from Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah. Israel could "take Lebanon back to the Stone Age, but we don't want to do that," Israeli Defense Minister Yov Galant said during a visit to Washington on Wednesday. "We do not want war, but we are preparing for any possibility," he told reporters. "Hezbollah knows very well that if we start a war, we c

Image
One person died and six were injured after a portion of the roof of the Delhi airport's Terminal-1 collapsed on cars, including taxis, amid heavy rain early Friday, leading to suspension of flight departures, according to officials. Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu said he was monitoring the situation and the injured had been hospitalised. Delhi Fire Services officials said three fire tenders were rushed to Terminal-1 of the airport after a call about the incident was received around 5:30 am. A search operation was conducted to make sure no one was trapped inside the damaged vehicles, they said. The injured persons have been admitted to Medanta Hospital near the airport. Of the six injured, one person was rescued from a car on which an iron beam had fallen, they added. Work was underway to clear the debris.   Deputy Commissioner of Police Usha Rangnani

They will seek to reshape the political narrative as they battle over economic issues, foreign policy and international crises, the country's immigration crisis, and the state of American democracy. The debate, which is being conducted four months ahead of the US Presidential polls, is being hosted by the CNN and broadcasted by all networks across US.  There is no studio audience for the debate and the mics will be cut out after the candidate's speaking time is over. Two astronauts stuck on ISS as Boeing capsule faces technical snag

Image
The return of the Boeing Starliner spacecraft carrying astronauts Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore from the International Space Station (ISS) to Earth has been postponed again by NASA to allow more time to review technical issues. The spacecraft was originally scheduled to return on June 26; before that, the first possible date was June 14. Williams and Wilmore were scheduled to return home after about a week in orbit. The two astronauts were launched on June 5 as a final demonstration to receive approval from NASA for routine flights. Starliner's first manned test flight suffered five failures in its 28 control engines, including helium leaks and sluggish fuel valves. On June 7, Indian-born US astronaut Sunita Williams broke into an impromptu dance as she entered the ISS. She and her colleague Butch Wilmore were greeted with a welcome card that read "Ringing Bells". Williams, 58, a manned test flight pilot, was on her third spaceflight aboard Boeing's Starliner sp
