In a statement to AFP, the Danish Prime Minister's Office said Frederiksen was "shocked by the incident" but did not provide further details.

The incident comes after a spate of attacks on politicians across the political spectrum while working or campaigning in Germany ahead of this week's EU elections.
On May 15, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico was shot four times at close range as he greeted supporters after a government meeting in the central town of Handlova.
Fico, who survived the assassination attempt, was taken to hospital in a nearby town after the attack, where he underwent two lengthy operations. Two witnesses, Marie-Adrienne and Anna Rabun, told BT they saw Frederiksen arrive at the square just before 6pm, sitting in a nearby fountain. "A man coming from the opposite direction gave her a strong push on the shoulder and she fell to the side," the two women told the paper.
Frederiksen suffered a "strong impact" but did not hit the ground, they said.
Witnesses said the prime minister was then sitting in a nearby cafe.

They described the man as tall and thin, and said he tried to run away quickly but had not got far when men in suits grabbed him and forced him to the ground.
