Murshidabad Unrest: Sukanta Majumdar Reaches Out to Bengal Governor, Voices Alarm Over Hindu Persecutions

On Monday, Sukanta Majumdar voiced alarm regarding the volatile circumstances in Murshidabad, suggesting that the involvement of Central forces like the CRPF could alleviate the situation.

Sukanta Majumdar, who is the Union Minister and the BJP's state leader in West Bengal, sent a communication to West Bengal Governor C.V. Ananda Bose, highlighting his worries about the abuses faced by Hindus amidst the violence in Murshidabad. He also posted updates regarding this matter on his official 'X' account.

"Today, I arrived in Malda and spoke with numerous Hindu families who had to escape Murshidabad due to brutal attacks by extremist individuals. Their accounts were shocking and deeply distressing, serving as undeniable proof of targeted aggression and intimidation. I have detailed my concerns in a letter to the esteemed Governor of West Bengal, calling for immediate and resolute measures. The protection and respect of these at-risk Hindu individuals must be prioritized above all. This issue transcends mere law enforcement; it represents a humanitarian emergency. I urge prompt action," his post on 'X' stated.

Earlier on Monday, Majumdar voiced worries regarding the strained circumstances in Murshidabad, mentioning that the presence of Central troops, including the CRPF, might aid in stabilizing the region. Additionally, Majumdar called on West Bengal's Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to seek help from the Central government to ensure tranquility and order.
