Brijesh Thapa, 27, Indian Army Captain, killed in Doda, Jammu and Kashmir
Indian Army Captain Brijesh Thapa was one of four soldiers killed while fighting terrorists in Doda, Jammu and Kashmir on Monday evening. His father, Colonel Bhuwanesh K. Thapa (retd), said Brijesh had wanted to join the army since he was a young boy and he was proud that his son had given his life for the country.
The father of an Indian Army Captain killed in an encounter with rebels in Jammu and Kashmir said he was proud of his son.
Brijesh Thapa was killed along with Naik D. Rajesh, Sepoy Vijendra and Sepoy Ajay while fighting terrorists in the Desa forest area on Monday night.
Colonel Bhuwanesh K. Thapa (Retd.) said he was proud that his son Brijesh had sacrificed his life for the country.
He added that as a soldier, he would "salute" his son's body when it is brought home. The father of an Indian Army captain who was killed in a clash with militants in Jammu and Kashmir said he was proud of his son.

He added that he would "pay tribute" to his son as a soldier once his body is brought home. Bhuwanesh said Brijesh was an engineer by training but decided to join the army in 2019.
"His training began in 2018 and he joined in September 2019. "He was an intelligent, disciplined and obedient boy. He was happy with what he was given," Col Bhuwanesh said. His mother Nilima added: "He did his Bachelor of Engineering but joined the army. He was last at home in March this year." That was the last time we saw him."
Nilima said Brijesh liked to play the guitar and drums.
"He was a very polite person. He never complained about anything. And he always wanted to join the army. We used to tell him that life in the army was tough. He had also seen his father's life and still wanted to join the army," Nilima added.
